Damn c-clip
I've lost this little fucker three times already today.
That means that at least two miracles happened today as I found it each time.
I'm scared of trying to put it on again.

I'm going to have my TD-3 delivered within two days now, so I can't compare with my TT-303 (which is supposed to be pretty accurate sounding), but I remember when TD-3 was new on the market there was an "issue" with the VCF offset being set too high by factory and lots of people were turning that pot on the mainboard a bit down to make it sound more faithful to the og.
Is this still necessary? It is in production for several years now, was it changed in later units, or will I have to do it too?
A little bit of overview of my recent purchase - the newly updated G-Lide.
One thing that absolutely needs to be said is - that screen is bonkers. I've read beforehand that it's much more readable than the classic lcd ones, but man you have to see it in person to truly understand and appreciate how much better it is.
This negative screen is much more readable - under any lighting and no matter from what angle you are looking at it - than any positive lcd. It's truly crazy good.
The watch is super light and I like the semi transparent case.
Some negatives:
- You can't change the damn date format from MM/DD
- I needed a week for my wrist to get used to that sensor bulge. It's alright now, but it would still be better if it was flush with the case back.
- smartphone app is really not great - perhaps it's the lengthy synchronisation with the watch that is bringing it down
- I wish you could set a timeout for notifications - now they stay on screen until you dismiss them
- automatic backlight is janky, had to turn it off
- button presses always turn on backlight, even in full sun for some reason
- I like my hourly chime on, but it's stuck together with regular alarms in notification settings so you can either have both with vibration or none of them, which is not optimal
I can't say anything about the tide point feature as it is basically useless where I live (and how I live 😂).
The smart features are fine, heart sensor seems to be accurate enough, sleep measurement along with the nightly recharge feature seem to be reflective of how I feel in the morning. I only wish sleep more data would synch with iOS Health app, as only the pulse does.
Battery life seems to be ok-ish - I have everything turned on, with heartbeat measurement always on and it is good for about a full week of usage between charges.
Overall I'm very happy with it, wish it was slightly smaller perhaps but other than that it's great - a good enough set of features in my favourite form factor (I hate the rectangular Apple Watch-like ones the most). Hope this gives you some info as there's not much about this watch on the web.
Yeah yet another post with testimony of Phorcydes terrible qc...
What you can see on the first picture is the horrible bezel. It's not typical alignment issue - as I hope you you can see it's perfect at 12 o'clock mark but starting from 10 minutes mark up to 50 minutes on the bezel it's terribly off. I checked with a ruler and I'm pretty sure it's the bezel marks that are not symmetrically placed, not the dial marks. The perspective on the photo is not perfect, but it represents well what I can see with my naked eye.
I've seen a post of this watch with broken movement and on the video the bezel looked fine so I'm not sure if it's yet another Phorcydes roulette situation that I just drew badly or what...
On top of that - my movement was going really fast - 13 to 20-something seconds a day too fast, I had to open it up and use the regulating screw to slow it down to a more reasonable +4/5s. BTW when I opened it there was some small debris on the unscrewed case back... not great and possible cause of future failure
Of course I didn't get neither the signed crown, which was on the store pictures, nor signed clasp. And the cherry on top is the very sharp bracelet, to the point it was almost immediately irritating my skin - I'm a diy guy so I just used the 600grit sand paper to sand the edges down a bit so it's fine now, but for a regular customer that would necessitate a swap...
I would also say the neon green lume is not that great, it does get through the night but it's brightness is disappointing - if lume is truly important, and I believe with this watch it most likely is, you should chose any of the pure ones (without additional colouring).
Overall I still like it, but it's highly unlikely I will ever buy any other Phorcydes product after that whole experience, delays and multiple imperfections.
