Eerste marathon in maart, tips?

Lost something on a bus in Maastricht - what should I do?

I think I left something on the bus yesterday and I'm trying to figure out the best way to report it.

Has anyone here actually dealt with lost property on Maastricht buses before? Did you manage to get your stuff back?

YES! 1-1 in the 84th minute 🔥

Finally! After going behind, we’ve managed to find the equaliser with just a few minutes left. Now we’ve got to push for the winner. The momentum is with us right now, so why not go for it?

Where can I buy reasonably priced flowers in Maastricht?

I'm looking for a nice bouquet for someone's birthday but don't want to spend a ridiculous amount on it.

Are there any flower shops or markets in Maastricht where you can get something nice without going overboard on the price?

Has anyone taken a career break before reaching FIRE?

I've been thinking about how much a few months away from work could affect the FIRE timeline. On paper, it delays investing, but it might also give you a chance to recover before going back to work or figure out what you actually want to do. Has anyone here taken a proper career break while still pursuing FIRE, and did you regret the financial trade-off?

What does "enough" actually mean to you?

I've noticed that the closer people get to FIRE, the harder it can become to define what "enough" actually means. Once you've reached a certain level of savings, the decision isn't always about whether you can retire, but whether you feel comfortable doing it. There might always be another reason to keep working and investing - a bigger safety cushion, better travel, helping family, or simply wanting more options.

How did you arrive at your own definition of enough, and has it changed as you've progressed towards FIRE?

What do you like most about the area where you live?

I'm curious about the smaller things that make people genuinely enjoy living where they do. It doesn't have to be a famous landmark or something you'd recommend to tourists.

Maybe it's a quiet street, a good local bakery, a park nearby, friendly neighbours, easy access to public transport, or simply the feeling of the area.

What is one thing about your neighbourhood, town, or city that you would really miss if you moved somewhere else?

What do you think the Netherlands does better than most countries?

No country gets everything right, but every place has a few things it genuinely excels at.

Whether it's public transport, cycling infrastructure, urban planning, work-life balance, healthcare, water management, or something less obvious, what makes you think, "We're actually pretty good at this"?

I'd love to hear what you think the Netherlands genuinely does better than most other countries, and why.
