Traffic Alert: Brief Closure of W. Broad St. at Harrison St. Around 4PM Today for VCU New Student Spirit Walk.

Greetings RVA!

Be advised that weather permitting, around the 4 o'clock hour there will be a brief closure on Broad at Harrison after the conclusion of the VCU New Student Convocation being held at The Siegel Center. The parade will start on Harrison crossing Broad and will continue down Harrison where the Class of 2030 will turn left onto Floyd ending at the VCU Student Commons. Floyd will also be closed during that time until later in the evening. While the start time is scheduled at 4, it can be rather fluid as last year's actually started at 3:50 and I've seen it start as late as 4:30 in the past. It usually takes them about 5 minutes to cross at Broad.

Plan accordingly.

The Richmond Times Dispatch Shared Some Photos Of GWAR From Their Archives, and Here They Are:

Photo 1: One of the members of GWAR waves hello to those watching him skate to the Main Street Grill at Main and 17th streets in 1986.

Photo 2: Dave Brockie portrayed Oderus Urungus in GWAR. Brockie died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at his Richmond home.

Photo 3: GWAR mainstays Chuck Vargas (left) and Hunter Jackson make room in the basement for the new studio bought with funds from their record deal with Master Records in 1990.

Photo 4: Fear of Richmond's "bloodthirsty" rock group GWAR led to sevearl canceled dates on the band's European tour. But the sensational press coverage only heightened the interest in "the new bad boys of rock."

Photo 5: Nightmare come true — perhaps GWAR's new recording contract with Metal Blade/Warner Bros. proves the prediction made by Mike "Beefcake the Mighty" Bishop several years ago: "GWAR will kind of rot the music industry from inside out — because it deserves it." The popular Richmond band also moved its complex operation into a larger studio last week.

Photo 8: Richmond's shock-rock band GWAR has released a new album, "Scumdogs of the Universe," which is sure to generate controversy for its lyrics laced with obscenities.

ME Prism Finder S Diopter Strength Question

Howdy fellow Bronica users, I've got a question for those that have bought diopters for their prism finders.

I have finally reached a point where I need multifocal lenses and don't wear my contacts as much anymore, so I'd like to buy the appropriate diopter for my SQ. I know the default diopter is -1.5 and my vision is -3.5, so would I need to go up one strength to -4.5 or does the -3.5 diopter already account for this?

I've searched several places and couldn't find a definitive answer which is why I am here now, and of course it isn't as clearcut as the diopter I got for my AE-III that I use on my ETRSi, because that only had one option with my strength: Minus (and boy did that take a while to track down). Thank Everybody!
