Help me find this book (fantasy)

Hi everyone, I'm trying to find a thick fantasy novel (likely published between 2020 and 2025) that I read last year.

Here are all the key details and plot clues I remember:

Author & Publication

Author's name sounds South Asian/Indian, but the book is written in English and features a European/Western setting and characters (not Indian mythology).

Thick, lengthy physical book.

Cover art was painted/artistic with prominent red and blue tones, featuring the male protagonist with a sword.

It felt like the first book in an unfinished series.

Protagonist & Magic System

Starts as a realistic high school bullying story before transitioning into dark urban/contemporary fantasy.

As a young child, the protagonist survived a fatal knife wound to his chest, which was regarded as a miracle.

He experiences a dual-persona state because a benevolent ancestor's spirit literally lives inside him, guiding his journey.

An antagonistic ancestor is actively opposed to him.

Ancestral Mansion & Key Characters

He travels to his family's ancient estate, which is maintained by an old butler who previously served his father.

Key mechanic: Wards on the main house strictly permit only blood relatives to enter. Because of this, his non-relative female best friend is forced to stay in the guest house.

He discovers an underground vault/basement in the estate containing ancient family history.

Love interest: A rebellious girl in his friend group whose father is a powerful, extremely wealthy businessman.

Climax: His female best friend dies near the end of the book during a shootout.

Does this plot ring a bell for anyone? Any titles or author suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
