Getting ready to build my first Spooky Village

Last year I cobbled together a small costume party scene out of bits and parts I had, to see if I’d like building a fall/halloween/spooky village. I discovered I loved having an opportunity to use a wide variety of minifigures that normally would not work together. I was sold, so YES, I’ve jumped down a new rabbit hole of Lego sets to collect!

Last years pre-Black Friday sales gave me the opportunity to get 2 HP sets at 40% off so I bought:
-Olivanders & Madam Malkins shops -Hagrids Hut
Since both of these had spooky potential and were a great deal.

This year I’ve been hunting minifigures and sales on sets I’d want in my Halloween village. The fates have been kind in sending sales early this year, so it’s now time for me to buckle down and get building.

I think this year is great year for anyone wanting to start building this kind of seasonal display due to the number of good sets currently available and sales that are taking place. These are the sets I have bought recently and are currently on the shelves for purchase.
-Autumn Cottage Garden
-Mini Bonsai Trees
-Haunted Mansion
-Mayor Manor
-HP Knockturn Alley Wizarding Shops
-HP Hagrrid & Harry’s Privet Dr Escape
-Back to the Future Time Machine car
-Shrek Minifigures
-Lego store build a minifigure
(If you are close to a Lego store, don’t miss this opportunity to to build a few spooky characters for your village)

I’d love to know what other currently available Lego sets you guys are, or will be getting for your village? We’ve got some more “deal days” just ahead of us and I like snagging my sets on sale; so I don’t want to overlook possible sets to add to my growing collection.

Wishing you all happy haunting and great deals as you hunt for your spooky collection too 👻

Found HP set 76471 at Target with a shelf price tag of $99.99 instead of the normal $119.99

I’m going to be adding some Harry Potter sets to my Halloween Village so I pick up the new HP set 76471 Knockturn Alley Wizarding Shops at Target today. While there I noticed the tag on the shelf showed the set at a lower price of $99.99, which is odd since the set scans at 119.99 and so does the barcode under the $99.99 on the shelf label, when you scan that. I asked an employee if we could get it for the tag price of $99.99 and they honored it. They did a “price match” at the register.

We had to go to a different Target later tonight so I checked the Lego aisle and this set their also had a $99.99 tag on the shelf, so if your looking to get this set too, see if your Target has the same pricing error and ask your store to honor their own shelf pricing tag. Good Luck and Happy Haunting

Real Music Fender guitar set and doll size comparison

Hey guys. I was excited to finally see the Real Music set with Fender guitar at my Walmart today and thought I’d share this image for any doll collectors in the group so you can kinda get an idea of scale.

I think the guitar is a bit small for my Rainbow High dolls but could work better with my LOL OMG dolls. I also popped in a Barbie, in case anyone wanted to see her in the mix

I love to spin, weave and collect miniatures; so when I spotted this miniature rigid heddle loom on Etsy a few weeks back I could not resist getting it.

This little cutie is a dream come true for me. I was even able to special ordered mine with an extra heddle so I could double my sett. I’m in the process of testing things out to see what works best, since working in miniature is a bit of a different game.
Just thought you guys might enjoy seeing this little gem.

I’m a weaver and a lover of miniatures, so when I spotted this absolutely adorable tiny rigid heddle loom on Etsy; that was doll sized and had this cute bunny profile… I had to get it for my collection.

I figure this will be a great way for me to use my leftover fingering and lace wight yarns to weave tiny scarves and wraps for the dolls.

I’m glad I know how to warp and weave on a rigid heddle loom; since trying to do all the “tie ons” in miniature and get the tension right is a bit fiddly but that is the nature of working with miniatures.
