Would you write for a community owned publication, and make money from your posts?

Hey guys,

I'm a software developer and also run a small publication business in my free time. I've been thinking about the AI and blogging epidemic, and how badly bloggers and writers are getting crowded out of their individual fields.

I've been playing with an idea: a community led, community earned publication. Basically, you apply to be part of the platform as a writer, you get approved, you write articles on your topic of choice and they get approved, and going forward you get (almost) all of the ad revenue and affiliate commission generated by any articles you have on the website, permanently. I'd take a small cut for the platform and for my own livelihood, but the vast, vast majority would be going back to individual authors.

Would you guys do this as a side job? I feel it solves some of the visibility issue of being able to launch your blog and/or find freelance work when everything is so rough right now. Would love to hear your input

You're Paying Extra for a Word That Means Nothing (Unless the Bottle Is From Europe)

Found this an interesting read, particularly the "cellared by" thing

Are any of you interested in writing an article about beer?

Title. I run and own BevWire (BevWire.com) and myself and my team are wondering if anyone would be interested in being featured as a guest author.

Topic is your choice, and no AI content - our editorial team will do a review beforehand but our guidelines are pretty lax as long as nothing is aggregious. If you'd be interested, let me know!

We draw about 15,000 unique visitors a month.

Offering free guest posts with dofollow backlinks

Site is BevWire.com . Only requirements: you need to write something original, based on actual experience or a genuine human perspective, light AI editing is acceptable but no generation. I need original, human based content to add to my overall publication. Post needs to be relevant to the website topic.

That said, send along your website and a draft to staff@bevwire.com and I'll take a look!

Would you pay $5/mo for a "SaaS Guild"? (Collective backlinks, private forum, and shared distribution)

Hey guys,

I've started some of my own SaaS platforms in the past, to varying successes or failures. I've been playing around with an idea in my head about something like a SaaS chamber of commerce equivalent for small or solo founders. Basic idea:

You join for something like $5/mo (mostly to keep the spam/bots out, maybe 10 idk). Being a member gets you a do-follow link in a curated directory, and you’d put a "Member of the Collective" badge on your own site, with a link back. Since it's a paid, legitimate association, it should be a solid way to build some early authority for business reputation and for search engines (it's my understanding, from research, that Google does count "link juice" for reciprocating links in an established association, provided the links from the organization are vetted and in some way moderated. I have an LLC that I could set it up as DBA if I really wanted to continue)

Aside from the SEO side, I’m thinking:

  • A Private Forum: A dedicated place to actually talk strategy, trade feedback, or maybe even bundle our tools together for cross-promotion. I've got the technical ability to build really any kind of collaborative platform as a connection
  • Collaborative Feed: A shared news/article feed where everyone gets to publish a few times a month. Permanent on the home page, maybe goes out as a newsletter to collective members and to anyone who subscribes to the newsletter?

Is this something you’d actually pay $5 for to help your project get off the ground? I know I would have for some of my failed previous SaaS ventures. Even maybe the subscription fee could be partially pooled to provide voted for grants to community members.

The $50 Sancerre is Dead: How 2026’s Trade Wars Just Rewrote Your Wine List

I thought that this was an interesting read - particularly, the part about how tarrif levies end up having a multiplying effect on an imported wine's actual shelf cost. Would not have guessed that the tariffs mattered so much for pricing.

I thought this was interesting, though probably AI lol. Why would you guys say you primarily drink NA beer? Health benefits, ex-alcohol drinkers, functional additions, etc?

Hello Miami residents!

My name is Jack and I'm a journalist for BevWire. I asked here previously about a brewery called Tripping Animals when I was in town visiting and if people had visited it, and I got a lot of responses. I was interested in that there were people telling me that the Miami craft brewery scene wasn't very big, and that there was a lot of nightlife and and different stuff that was competing. Craft brewing is so big in the rest of the country, and so I was interested in finding more about that, and why it's different in Miami. I wrote this article up on that and wanted to share it with all of you.

Cheers! I hope you enjoy.
