This Tornado Wasn't Supposed to Be There | The Ghosts of Kansas
One of the questions I get asked most often is:
"Have you ever had any close calls storm chasing?"
The answer is complicated.
On June 20, 2026, a brief tornado touched down just west of my position and began lofting debris from a nearby farm directly across our path. Minutes later, I found myself taking some of the strongest straight-line winds I've ever experienced in a storm. It threw me off the road several times.
So...no, usually not. But sometimes 'The Giants" remind you who's in charge.
This 2-minute sequence is one of the most intense scenes from THE GHOST OF KANSAS.

CHAOS In Kansas | The Rear Flank, Ep. 27
Quite a lot of people on the roads lately
The Nebraska Monster | The Rear Flank Ep. 26. Premiering 5/19/26 at 8pm
I spent the last 72 hours chasing and filming tornadoes across Nebraska, and after staying up all night editing, then letting it render literally all day in the passenger seat of my Subaru while chasing and filming even more 5/18/26 in Kansas…, I finally got the upload finished. It’s in 8K format, and will premiere tomorrow May 19, 2026.
I’m utterly exhausted. At the time of this writing it’s 4:30am and I’m just getting home in Fargo, ND. If you have the time, check out tonight’s documentary release: “The Nebraska Monster.”
