Favourite Sniper Rifle?

I'm new to BFV. I played BF4, BF1 and then recently BF6 but I skipped BFV for some reason and after being convinced to give it a try, I'm loving it!

What's everyone's favourite Sniper Rifle, what Specializations and how do you like to play?

I know the Krag and Kar98 are really popular with their high velocity. I've been enjoying the Gewehr.

I'm undecided whether to build towards less bullet drop or faster RoF. I mostly play Breakthrough and some Conquest and I feel like faster RoF is more useful for playing the objective? Less bullet drop better for long range sniping?

Headphones for Gaming

I'm loking for a new pair of headphones to be used primarily for gaming. I don't need a headset, I use a separate mic and also have an audio interface so powered options can be considered. So I'd prefer to focus on quality headphones.

Previously I've had a pair of Beyerdynamic 990 Pro for the last 10+ years so that's my benchmark. I'd buy them again to be fair, just want to see what other options there are and if I can get anything that will feel like an upgrade.

I noticed that Sennheiser comes up a lot here, particularly the 560s and 490 pro?

Budget up to £300.

Beyerdynamic for Gaming

I've had a set of Beyerdynamic 990 Pro open back headphones for about 10 year's now, maybe even longer. They've been brilliant but they really are starting to fall to bits so it's time for something new.

I'm fairly keen on sticking with Beyerdynamic as they've been so good but do I get the same again or do I look at another model as an "upgrade"?

Budget around £200. I can go a bit higher but I don't think I can justify the 1990 Pro MKII.

Any suggestions? Happy to look at other brands too.. I just know my 990 Pros have been great.

Is the Timeline MX worth the cost?

The Strymon Timeline MX released the other day for around £700.

I've been thinking about getting a nice delay pedal recently and I've been really drawn to the sound of the El Capistan but the one thing holding me back is the Dig.

I play quite a range of genres and I think I'd enjoy experimenting with classic tape delay effects as well as digitital and everything in between. If I ever got both, I'd have spent as much as the Timeline MX costs. Then if I later wanted to add on the Oil Can delay, I'd have spent more.

The Timeline MX feels like a lot of money for one delay pedal but I don't think it's completely unreasonable considering it has every delay effect you could ever want? But then.. who needs that many?

What are the Timeline MXs closest competitors? And I'm curious to know from people with multi-effect delays, how often do you find yourself switching types? Or do you just end up sticking to one or two?

Muse Hush Solo

Any idea what the effects are used in the solo of Hush by Muse?

I know Matt is pretty famous for using a Fuzz Factory and a Whammy so maybe it's just a combination of those? I don't own either though so I don't know if they can get that "synthy".

Distortion & Fuzz

I'm looking for couple of pedals to cover a wide range of distortion and fuzz effects.

At the moment I use a Timmy for low-gain overdrive but I'm looking for something to cover the high end and ideally also check off the "velcroy" fuzz sounds that bands like Muse use a lot.

I know Matt Bellamy is famous for using a Fuzz Factory but does he use it a lot or is it mainly famous for the self-oscillation in songs like Plug in Baby? I guess what I'm asking is, if I don't care about the self-oscillation, are the other pedals that can fill that spot? Or is the flexibility of the FF just second to none?

I'm quite tempted by the DoD Carcosa. It seems to cover a good range of distortion and fuzz on its own and just about gets into "velcro" territory (though not as much as the FF).

If the FF really is the way then what high gain distortion would pair well with it for more classic rock?

Elementalist Strenths?

Ele was my main at launch. I enjoyed core, then Tempest but Weaver didn't click with me so around that time, i swapped to a Mesmer main and haven't really been back since.

I want to go back and try a few builds out so I'm curious to know where the Elementalist is strongest? Where do the specs fit in DPS, Boon DPS and Healing in PvE content and how do they stack up against other classes?

Favourite Mesmer Build?

What are your top 3 favourite Mesmer builds right now for various roles/gamemodes and why?

I've been away for a while and on return, I've found myself going back to Power Chrono as it's just so versatile.

I tend to favour boon DPS for any group activity over just pure DPS unless the spec really shines at it. But I like Condi Virtuoso for when i just want something easy to play.

Trying to find a good Troubador build for healing. I know Chrono is still a great healer, and arguably more versatile too since it can supply Quickness or Alacrity but I just want something a bit different to play.

What's your top 3? Or 1 if you only play one build.

Charcoal baskets?

Just got my first weber grill and looking forward to firing it up this evening.

I was planning on buying the charcoal baskets but then I realised the master touch comes with these "barriers" (just realised I might have put it on the wrong way around).

Are they good enough at keeping the charcoal piles at the sides or is it still worth getting the baskets? Or do most people not bother with either?
