Official FCU and Sotoa patches
Got the FCU and Sotoa patches from a Bonus Level event a while back. They unfortunately came stock with the wrong side of the velcro (the velcro side on the patches were the one that were supposed to go on clothing and other stuff), so i had to modify it to use the correct side of the velcro. Now i get to use them whenever im bringing/wearing something that has velcro.
Pros of the update : A bunch of stuff, Cons : no more AR 15 =[
Yes it wasnt intended to be released but it was cool to have =[. At least the update is cool nuff
Are we ever gonna get a true openworld zombie gamemode?
Ngl, the current gamemode isn't the best and is pretty much only for grinding missions. And it also doesnt really recreate brm2 zombies gameplay. Since it is mentioned that other places (and presumably also Ronograd since the ICBM detonated in the bunker) also got infected, is there any chance we might see a true openworld zombies gamemode? (no survival mechanics and possibly usable vehicles)
Small Arms from AFAR : Special Tactical Adaptable Bullpup
The seventh weapons platform by the National Conglomerate : Defense corporation, the STAB is a multi caliber bullpup platform made to be the standard issue platform for the Special Fighting Force. It can quickly switch between 5.56 NATO and 7.62 NATO by switching the barrels and a few other parts. There are also other conversions for calibers such as 9mm NATO, 12 gauge and more.
-ARB-07A1 : The standard issue rifle for the SFF, it fires 5.56 out of a 16 inch barrel as per usual. It is almost completely ambidextrous, having controls in both sides and being able to swap between left and right hand ejection. It also features an adjustable stock, allowing users to set the length of pull to whatever they are comfortable with. The fire selector and one of the mag releases are located above the trigger, while the bolt release and a second mag release is located near the magazine. It is equipped with the NMCO, RCLIM and the Next Generation Suppressor.
-ARBC-07A1 : A carbine variant made for rear echelon troops and vehicle crew. It still retains a 14.5 inch barrel, making the ballistic performance not too dissimilar to the standard version. It is sometimes equipped with the light lower, which is a version of the lower receiver with a lot of excess material shaved off. It can typically be found with the RCCO, RCLIM and the LightWeight Suppressor.
-LMRB-07A1 : A marksman variant made to give squads a longer reach, it fires 5.56 out of a 20 inch barrel. Much like other LMRs in Arion service, it uses the special 5.56 LR round to help reach it longer distances, and has a special accurized barrel to help it hit farther targets. Uniquely enough, it has a 3 round burst mechanism to help it be able to put more rounds down range if needed, while not degrading the internals as much as full auto fire. It is equipped with the LRMO, RCLIM and the NGS.
-LSWB-07A1 : A squad automatic variant, it is intended to give squads a light weight suppressive fire option should belt fed LMGs be too cumbersome. It fires 5.56 from a heavy 20 inch barrel, and usually feeds from a 60 round casket magazine. The suppressor can be quickly detached and possibly replaced if it gets too hot, though typically it is removed before intense firefights. It is equipped with the MGCO, RCLIM and the NGS.
-BRB-07A1 : The 7.62 battle rifle conversion, it fire 7.62 NATO from an 18 inch barrel and feeds from AR10 mags. All STAB rifles can be quickly switched between 5.56 and 7.62 just by switching the barrel and a few other parts.
-ARB-07A1 SDAR : The Special Dual purpose Assault Rifle is an underwater rifle tailor made for special diving units. It can fire both standard 5.56 and special underwater versions of 5.56 Long. While most Arion optics and attachments are water resistant, and there are also some versions tailor made for underwater usage, it is not uncommon to see these rifles bare bones.
Small Arms from AFAR : Adaptable Multi caliber Machine gun Platform
The sixth weapons platform made by the National Conglomerate : Defense corporation, the AMMP is a machine gun platform made for weapon squads and vehicles of the Arion Republic. Calibers in this weapons family range from 5.56x45 and 7.62x51 for infantry, to .338 Lapua and .50 BMG for vehicle mounted systems.
-LMG-06A1 "Shredder" : A light machine gun originally made to fulfill the role of a GPMG, it now occasionally sees use in both standard infantry squads and weapon squads. The thinking at the time was that the increased potential for suppressive fire owing to its high rate of fire can make up for its lower ballistic performance compared to 7.62. To help bolster the ballistics, it is equipped with a 22 inch barrel and the 5.56 LR round, allowing to punch further and harder. While the disparity is still quite major, it still sees some use in weapon squads to replace GPMGs. It can also feed from both STANAG mags and belts, although the former is rarely done due to very high rates of fire. It also has a slower and faster fire mode.
-GPMG-06A1 : A general purpose machine gun sometimes used as an LMG, the "Pig 2.0" is chambered in 7.62 and can feed from both AR10 mags and belts. It is light enough that it sometimes sees use in infantry squads. It has two fire modes, "slow" and "fast", allowing it to conserve ammo when possible, while being to rapidly spray lead down range whenever needed. Much like most other machine guns in Arion service, it is equipped with the MGCO to help increase accuracy.
-GPMG-06A1 Rapid : A general purpose machine gun with a blistering rate of fire, it has been mostly phased out in both weapons squad and vehicle mounted usage. Its rapid rate of fire, which chews through ammo quickly and overall heavy weight has rendered it mostly undesirable for infantry usage, while its 7.62 chambering has made it less desirable for vehicle mounting due to newer offerings in larger calibers.
-MMG-06A1 "Eviscerator" : A medium machine gun purpose built for usage on vehicles, it is chambered in .338 Lapua magnum. It came as a replacement for the GPMG Rapid to give vehicles something with a larger caliber that is lighter than a HMG, while having the same rate of fire as its predecessor. It is equipped with the holographic Enhanced Machine Gun Optic, which is purpose built for usage on vehicle mounted machine guns. It is equipped with the usual Thermal/NV systems, along side most of the other bells and whistles of typical Arion optics.
All* obtainable* weapons in brm5 (+ some bonus stuff)
Since brm5 is getting age locked soon, i decided to take pics of all the guns in the game circa early May, enjoy
The fifth weapons platform made by the National Conglomerate : Defense corporation, the PEWS is the go to choice for bolt action rifles across the Arion Republic. Much like other platforms made by NCD, it is highly modular, allowing it to equip a wide array of accessories and furniture, and also being able to be converted to different calibers, through their multicaliber receivers. The most popular receivers are the M receiver for 7.62x51 and 5.56x45, and the XL receiver for .50 BMG and .338 Lapua. It should be noted that receivers can also be converted to fire smaller rounds, all the way down to .22lr for civilian usage.
-AMR-05A1 : The premier ultra long range sniper rifle, it is chambered in .50 BMG and feeds from M82 mags. While Arion also has semi auto anti materiel rifles, bolt actions still see use as they are primarily made for the different targets. Semi autos are primarily made for targeting enemy equipment (such as vehicles and radar installation) while bolt actions (with their higher accuracy) primarily target enemy personnel. Much like other large caliber precision weapons, it is equipped with the HPMO, which has all the bell and whistles typical of Arion optics.
-SR-05A1 : The go to choice for most snipers, it is chambered in .338 Lapua magnum and feeds from MRAD mags, allowing it to fire much further than 7.62 snipers, while being lighter than .50 BMG. It is typically seen with a suppressor to help conceal snipers from enemies, increasing the chance that the shooter will be able to escape undetected, although the supersonic crack will tend to still be noticeable. It is equipped with the HPMO optic to help snipers target enemies more effectively with the built in NV/Thermals and shoot more accurately with the built in ballistics calculator.
-AMR-05A1 Republique : The Foreign Legion and export counterpart to the standard AMR. It is largely the same as the standard AMR as it was meant to be an export rifle, though the AFL later took interest in it. In AFL service, it is typically seen with the HPMO optic and polymer furniture, though some personnel prefer wood or some kind of wood look alike.
-MSR-05A1 Legionaire : One of the main sniper rifles in use by the AFL, and one of the export offerings for the PEWS platform. Foreign Legion scouting teams tend to have one 7.62 sniper for the shooter, with the spotter bringing a 7.62 DMR, allowing them to share magazines. This is in contrast to the shooter bringing a .338 sniper and a 5.56 LMR in typical "main force" and SFF scouting units. These rifles can be found either mounting the standard 5-25x Bullseye scopes, or the more high tech LRMO optic.
-MSR-05A1 Police : The main sniper rifle in use by the Arion Federal Police SWAT and the Arion Gendarmerie. It is chambered in 7.62x51mm and feeds from AR10 magazines. Police sniper units make great usage of the rifle, and it has proven its effectiveness time and time again during many hostage and terror situations.
-LSR-05A1SD : A covert conversion mainly for the M receiver, this specific example is chambered 5.56x45mm and feeds from STANAG magazines. It can be found firing either 5.56 LR rounds for long distance shooting or 5.56 Long for subsonic covert usage. Its quietness brings attention from covert operation units that need a highly quiet yet precise rifle.
-LSRB-05A1 : A rifle meant to push the limits of the 5.56 round, it has a 24 inch barrel and is usually found with the special 5.56 Ultra Extended Range (UER) round. This allows it to get quite close to 7.62x51mm ranges, although the round is even more harsh on standard guns than the 5.56 LR round. It is typically found with an overbarrel suppressor to help reduce the sound profile while keeping the compactness of the gun.
The fourth weapons platform made by by the National Conglomerate : Defense corporation, the MASS is made to be an indigenous shotgun family for all types of users, from hunting and self defence, to law enforcement and military.
-MASS Standard : The most basic version of the shotgun available. It is largely the same as other shotguns in the market, and even shares some compatibility in accessories, making it highly customizable. Its biggest difference however is in its ability to slam fire. While not really a military issue weapon, it still occasionally pops up in military service as a weapon brought from home.
-SG-04A1 Enforcer : The standard issue shotgun for the Arion Federal Police, this is a hybrid shotgun capable of firing in both pump action mode and semi auto. This allows it to both chamber less than lethal rounds without jamming, while also being able to put a lot of buckshot or slugs down range in semi auto. This shotgun also occasionally pops up in Military Police service.
-SG-04A1 Striker : The standard issue shotgun for military service, much like the Enforcer this is also a hybrid shotgun, though this one usually comes as a magazine fed shotgun. While running shotguns as primaries is rarely done, it is still quite an upgrade for urban room clearing operations, making it one of the preferred choices for breachers. This shotgun is also the preferred choice for Military Police.
-SG-04A1 Breacher : A compact breaching shotgun that can be carried around as a secondary, this shotgun is for the breachers that prefer to carry a rifle as there primary even during urban operations. While breaching is its main purpose, it is still capable of slinging buckshot or slugs like a normal shotgun. Due to its pitiful 2 round tube, it is common practice to ghost load this shotgun to bring the round count up to a 2+2.
The first weapons platform made by the National Conglomerate : Defense corporation, the MUWS is a family of small arms that can be found across all branches of the Armed Forces of the Arion Republic, though its more often used by the "main forces" (Arion Ground Component, Marine Corps, etc) of the Armed Forces of the Arion Republic. Almost any weapon type and common caliber can be found in this family, from 5.56 assault rifles and 7.62 battle rifles, to 12 gauge shotguns, 9mm submachine guns and .50 BMG anti materiel rifles.
-AR-01: The standard issue rifle for the AGC and AMC, it is meant to mostly replace the large stocks of various service rifles of each member state of the Arion Federation. It fires 5.56x45 out of a 16 inch barrel, and comes with plenty useful features such as swappable ejection ports, fully ambidextrous controls and many more. It also shares many similarities to the AR platform rifles, and also shares some parts with it. It is issued with the Next generation Medium Combat Optic (NMCO), featuring a 1-8x zoom, backup irons, NV/Thermal, rangefinder and ballistic calculator, and also the Rifle Combat Laser/Illumination Module. QD suppressors are also typically issued to somewhat help with reducing sound profiles.
-ARB-01: A bullpup assault rifle made for rear echelon troops and vehicle crew, but is also sometimes offered to soldiers who excel with weapons handling. it features the same barrel length as the AR while also coming in a much more compact package. This allows stranded vehicle crew members to effectively defend themselves even in longer ranges while still having a fairly compact weapon. It is also features the swappable ejection ports and fully ambidextrous controls of all MUWS rifles.
-ARC-01: A carbine featuring an 11.5 inch barrel made to give rear echelon troops and command staff a compact and light rifle. While the ARB features a longer barrel length, some personnel prefer the ARC as it is lighter, and if switching from DI to short stroke, also has a folding stock allowing it to be even more compact. It is equipped with the 1/4x Rifle Close Combat Optic, which also has the same features as the NMCO, and the RCLIM.
-LMR-01: A light marksman rifle made to have magazine and ammo compatibility with normal rifles, while offering superior range and lethality. It achieves this with a 20 inch accurized barrel, special long range ammo and the Long Range Marksman Optic. While the 5.56 LR round can be used in standard rifles, it also highly discouraged as it would wear down normal barrels, especially in full auto fire, as well as significantly increase recoil. The LRMO is a 3-18x optic that also has the advanced features of the NMCO. It also comes with the Next Generation Suppressor as standard to possibly help with ambushing enemies.
-LSW-01: A light squad weapon made to provide suppressive fire capabilities while still being relatively light. It is equipped with a heavy 20 inch barrel and a 60 round casket magazine. It also mounts the Machine Gun Combat Optic, which has a 1.5/6x zoom and all the features from the NMCO.
-LMG-01: A light machine gun made to provide heavy suppressive fire capabilities for infantry squads. It is equipped with mostly the same bell and whistles as the LSW, except that it also brings with it a quick change barrel and a dual feed, belt fed system, allowing it to field 100 or 200 round belt boxes, and in an emergency, standard STANAG mags. It also features a continuous upper rail and a side fed belt system.
-PDW-01A1SD: A integrally suppressed personal defence weapon originally chambered in 9x39 or somewhat less commonly .300 blackout, but later changed to 5.56 Long to allow emergency usage or regular 5.56 rounds. Typically issued to special operations units, though sometimes found with decorated rear echelon troops, usually purchased in requisition stores.
-PDWB-01A1: A super compact bullpup personal defence weapon coming it at less than 50cm, while still packing an 11.5 inch barrel. It is typically issued to fighter pilots and other airmen, though it is sometimes found in the hands of rear echelon troops. A variant called the Close quarters Special Operations Carbine (CSOC) also exists for use by VIP protection units and special operations.
-LMRB-01A1SD ICOR: The Interim Covert Operations Rifle is a stopgap measure to provide special operations units and the Special Fighting Force a bullpup assault rifle that can be fielded during the Formation Years war before the mass issuing of the AR-07 Bullpup Enhanced Assault Rifle. The LMRB SD is a bullpup light marksman rifle version of the ICOR.
-ARC Tac: A multicaliber rifle proof of concept that was eventually adopted by the NCD co security forces. It uniquely uses the 7.62 upper, however it can be switched to using 5.56 by only changing the magwell, barrel, and a few other internal parts. The success of this variant pushes it to become the basis for the A2 model, allowing an easier switch between 5.56 and 7.62.
-SMG-01A1: A 9x19 SMG capable of feeding from both mp5 mags and enhanced mp5 mags, which allows it to have a last round bolt hold open. It is typically found with a 9 inch barrel, and can be found in use by rear echelon troops who would prefer to have an even lighter weapon than the ARB and ARC, though it is seldom chosen due to lack of armor penetration capability. It is more often found in the hands of the AFP and the Military Police.
-BR-01A1: A 7.62x51 battle rifle version of the MUWS with an 18 inch barrel. It is typically issued as a conversion kit, where the upper and the magwell is completely replaced, leaving only the trigger group and the stock. It usually issued whenever 5.56 is no longer enough to effectively threaten enemies, though usually it is preferred to simply give more exotic ammo types rather than switch calibers.
-BRB-01A1: The bullpup conversion for the battle rifle, typically also replacing the ARB whenever a division transitions to using 7.62. It is typically not preferred due to both it and its ammunitions weight, though some soldiers swear by it and use it regulary anyways.
-DMR-01A1: A designated marksman rifle version of the MUWS sporting a 21 inch barrel, it can be found both as a conversion kit and as a standalone rifle. Unlike the other 7.62 rifles that are only given in emergencies, the DMR can somewhat rarely be found in certain infantry squads, and more commonly in sniper squads, typically given to spotters.
-OICW: A "failed" prototype combination weapon with both an assault rifle and semi automatic grenade launcher combined. Complaints by soldiers fielding them mainly revolve around weight and ergonomics, and it serves as a reminder of what happens to those that dont learn from the past. The grenade launcher part later went on to become the highly successful Tactical Airburst Grenade launcher, and the OICW does see some use with certain alien species' within the Republic with physical attributes making the OICW much more comfortable on their hands.
-MUWS MARS: A prototype that will eventually form the foundation for the A3 version of the MUWS. It is a chemrail rifle capable of surpassing far beyond both the A1 with its enhanced cartridges and the A2 with its caseless telescoped rounds. It features a separate replaceable battery pack in front of the 20 rnd STANAG magazine and is capable of firing a standard power level, a sniper mode with improved ballistics at the cost of having a reduced firerate and needing to replace the battery pack faster, and an anti materiel mode with significantly improved power, at the cost of very high recoil and significantly reduced round count before needing to switch batteries.
-AMR-01A1: An anti materiel rifle version of the MUWS, it is chambered in .50 BMG. While the republic operates both semi automatic and bolt action AMRs, they are typically meant to serve different roles, with the SA AMRs being focused on targetting objects such as vehicles, radar dishes and others, while the BA AMRs are focused on hitting personnel from long ranges. High powered rifles such as this are typically issued with the High Power Magnified Optic, which besides having a 5-25x zoom, also has all the other features typically found on Arion scopes.
