Anyone have experience with Mimono Portable MEMS laser projector?
The Mimono Portable has finally been reduced in price, I am really curious if its any better than the AnyBeam UP and Sony MP-CL1A.
I am a huge downer for impuls displays but the MEMS scene has been so dry lately, the Mimono claims to use 5 lasers for "improved" image - despite the Sony and Celluon also using 5 laser engines from MicroVision to reduce speckle.
The resolution of the Sony which is much greater at 1920x720 compared to Mimono of 1280x720 despite this, there tests showing the Sony to resolve more like 480-540p, so its kind of soft in otherwords. It would be interesting to see if the Mimono actually does any better, there barely any info at all on this MEMS projector out there.
Phone brands with least aggressive battery saving for automation apps like MacroDroid or Tasker?
Almost all phones lack good automation except Samsung.
So, I have to turn to Tasker or MacroDroid but then phone brands like Honor have such aggressive battery saver its virtually impossible to have automation app work reliably, worse yet Honor even kills its own Google apps from reliably working in the background....
However so many good phones also have notorious backgrond saving measures that kill the app and difficult to config not to.
Xiaomi (HyperOS) in my experience also has really aggressive battery saver.
Sony, Motorola, Nothing (Stock) Really good stock Android experience but battery size is basically close to Samsung.
Google as well like Samsung can turn off battery saving and let apps run freely in background with ease.
However, I do not have any experience with any of the other major brands in regards to running MacroDroid or Tasker, specially in terms of reliability over time, as with Honor it can work okay for one week then week two it decides MacroDroid is not used often enough and it turns off all optimisations automatically, even locking MacroDroid in background wont help...
Does anyone have any experience with these brands in regards to how aggressive their background optimisation is? Specially with how Chinese brands tend to have almost entirely different ROM experiences with CN version compared to international releases.
- OnePlus (OxygenOS) / OPPO (ColorOS)
- Vivo (OriginOS)
- Honor with Chinese ROM
- Huawei?

Olympus 75mm F1.8 "Please check the status of a lens" flex cable repair
I repaired two 75mm F1.8 lenses and made a tutorial how to do it yourself
If your Olympus / OM-System 75mm F1.8 lens has a connection error with your camera such as "Please check the status of a lens" or on Panasonic "Lens attachment failed"
Then most likely your ribbon cable inside has microtears or is just torn duo to mechanical stress caused by poor design choices.
Worst case the ribbon cable connection port is also damaged duo to stress.
The closest resembling replacement cable you can buy for the 75mm is the Lumix H-HS12035 flex cable which is designed for the Lumix G X VARIO 12-35mm F2.8 ASPH Mark 1
Its identical in size, in cable length, because its just a standard Micro Four Thirds connector flex cable and contact so interchangeability is fine.
Flood damaged Pokémon cards still hurt my soul 21 years later
We had a major flood in Norway 2005 basically damaged my entire Pokémon card collection, destroyed a lot of cards too.
Tons of flaking, colour bleaching - but it has that post-apocalypse feel to it looking at them 21 years later.
