Acer ANV15-41 battery stuck at 2% and not charging – happened after dual booting CachyOS + Win11 [Ryzen 7 7735HS]

Hey everyone, hoping someone here has dealt with this before.

The situation:

My Acer Nitro V (ANV15-41, ~1 year old) has a battery that's completely stopped charging. It's stuck at 2% and won't budge.

How it started:

This began right after I set up a dual boot with CachyOS and Windows 11. Initially the battery wasn't showing up *at all* — not even in BIOS. The laptop would run fine on AC power but would instantly shut off the moment I unplugged it.

What I tried:

- Pinhole reset method

- 30-second power button drain method

- Physically removed and reseated the battery

- Flashed the latest BIOS update

- Various forum fixes

None of it worked.

Current state:

After all that, the battery *is* now showing up (progress I guess?), but it's stuck at 2% and HWMonitor shows zero watts going into the battery — it's not accepting any charge at all.

The concerning part:

HWMonitor is also showing the wear level jumped from 10% → 29% in just one month. The laptop is only a year old. That kind of degradation in 30 days makes no sense to me.

Warranty situation:

Just crossed the 1-year mark so the standard battery warranty is expired. I do have extended warranty but it apparently doesn't cover the battery. Great timing.

Has anyone dealt with this — especially after dual booting? Could this be a software/ACPI issue or is the battery physically dead? Any help appreciated 🙏
