GM Brilliant Red isn't perfect but it's damn close

I couldn't find classic red in spray cans and I got insane quotes from body shops ($300 a pint), So I decided to just use Dupli-Color GM brilliant red which looked close enough on this absolutely sun-baked mess. In the Sun you can tell they're two slightly different shades of red but it is definitely better than having no paint at all lol.

has anybody ever heard a Miata make this noise before?

I've owned this car for 12 years and I've never had to do this. I pulled the car out starting it for only a couple of seconds just so I can wash it. after washing it about an hour later I started it up and pulled it right back in the garage. about 5 minutes later it started making this sound coming from what sounded like the radiator. I popped the radiator cap off and the coolant was pressurized but not to a crazy degree but enough to spill maybe half a cup out. The coolant looked clean as well. after that it got quieter and quieter over the course of about 10 minutes.

it's like Hikaru Dorodango but with a car

They say you can't polish a turd but you really can polish mud into something beautiful

Saw this cutout getting spicy

Saw it get called in on PulsePoint around 9:30 last night and I'm guessing it wasn't arcing then because the FD in their report said they didn't see anything. Being it was in my neighborhood, I swung by about a half hour later and it was buzzing and sparking a bit but nothing hitting the ground . The next morning though this thing was alternating between what I saw last night and popping and showering the sidewalk with sparks. My phone couldn't really get a good shot of it but I did have a few sparks land on my shoulders lol. This first pic was taken about an hour ago and it seems to have calmed down a bunch but the second pic is from around noon. I've never seen a cutout fail like this

All right so I figured out what was going on. After checking every pin out with the multimeter everything was correct. I even double-checked by running speaker wire directly from the head unit to the speakers and there was no change. Suspecting a bad ground even though the ground checked out as well, I cut the ground wire off of the radio end of the harness and ran a self-tapper as you can see into the metal support structure and now the speakers are much clearer. still definitely lesser quality than the Rockford Fosgates I have in my '97 but a drastic improvement nonetheless. As for the headrest speakers I found out what was going on there as well. I had music playing while I was pulling them out and as soon as I loosened the four mounting screws, they immediately sounded normal. It turns out for whatever reason if I screw them all the way down, they're not held down evenly and it warped the body of the speaker enough to distort the speaker cone which made everything sound like it was coming through a tin can. I still need to clean up my wiring As well as the surface of the metal where the self tapper is going but at least I have a good baseline now.

hey guys I replaced a janky set of pioneers that were in this car that dry rotted with these new kenwoods And brand new headrest speakers and they sounded just as bad if not worse then the blown speakers. so I put a new head unit in and it still sounded awful so then I replaced it with a modern Sony double DIN unit and they sounded exactly the same. this is a base 92 with no options from what I can tell. Meanwhile in my 97 I have Rockford Fosgates on a cheap Atoto double DIN and they sound amazing. these sound like they're clipping but at regular volume. like something's not allowing the head unit to fully power the speakers. I checked in the trunk and it doesn't look like any amp has ever been installed and besides the original speakers that I pulled out being wired out of phase, nothing really seemed too off about them.
