Texas changed its public school reading standards. Right choice?

Should the Bible be required reading in Texas public schools?

Texas has approved new reading standards that include Bible stories and scripture as required reading in English and literature classes.

Whether you support or oppose the decision, it will eventually affect public schools across the state.

Do you think this is about teaching literature and history, or does it cross the line between church and state?

Republican congressman in tx03 is he for reals?

"The Senate is ignoring the will of the people."

Congressman Keith Self has made that argument.

Now he's proposing that Texans no longer directly elect their own U.S. senators.

If senators aren't listening to voters, is taking voters out of the process the answer?

What do you think?

AVELO Airlines Launching flights from McKinney

For years, it was just a proposal. Now it's taking off.

Commercial passenger flights are officially coming to McKinney National Airport.

Avelo Airlines will launch nonstop service to five destinations this November with fares starting at $99, but the project still faces an ongoing legal challenge.

So are we excited? mad? or won't affect us either way since Lovefield and DFW are still close?

Should Texans Lose Their Right to Vote for U.S. Senators?

Seriously that's what Rep Keith Self from TX03 wants.

He has introduced a joint resolution to repeal the 17th Amendment.

If it ever became law, Texans would no longer vote directly for U.S. senators. The Texas Legislature would make that decision instead.

Would you support that?

Have you seen Keith Self's recent posts about Sharia—does this resonate with Plano voters?

Rep. Keith Self has recently made a series of posts warning that Sharia law threatens the United States and Western civilization. His Democratic challenger responded, calling it a manufactured issue and arguing the campaign should focus on healthcare, schools and affordability instead.

Given Plano's growing Muslim and South Asian communities, I'm curious how people here view this.

Do you think this is an issue that matters in TX-03, or is it a distraction from other concerns?

DATA Centers

Did anybody see the City Council meeting yesterday. Looks like there was an orchestrated thing to talk about Data Centers. Are there really that many in Plano? Can the council do anything?
