I told my dog to stay while I went to the bathroom. Came back 45 seconds later to find him standing on the counter, making direct eye contact with me, slowly eating a piece of bread.

Not frantically. Not guiltily. Slowly. Like a king.

He knew exactly what he was doing. He planned this. I don't know when our dynamic shifted but it's clear who runs this house now and it is not me.

I was giving my final university project presentation yesterday. Lecturers, suits, the whole deal. Everything was going perfectly until I finished my slides and minimized the window to show a live demo of my code.

I forgot I’d spent all night working on a secret, over-the-top romantic birthday website for my partner.

Suddenly, the projector is blasting a massive "I LOVE YOU" in pink animated text across the room, surrounded by a gallery of our most cheesy couple photos.

The room went dead silent. My fav professor peered over his glasses and asked, *"Is the 'I Love You' animation part of the system's user feedback loop?"*

Panic-brain took over and I blurted out: *"No, sir. That’s the backend."*

The class lost it. I will def not get an A, but I’ve been renamed "The Romantic Developer" in the group chat and I'm never showing my face on campus again😭
