Does anyone have any experience of this trial combining vedolizumab with either upadacitinib or a placebo?
I’m 10 weeks in now and have been convinced I’m on the placebo since pretty early on but as i was also taking prednisone it wasn’t too much of a big deal, but now I’ve had to taper off that to comply with the trial protocols it feels like I’ve no protection at all and have had 46 bowel movements in the last 3 days
I did see a consultant on Monday who has threatened to take me off the trial but I’m due a colonoscopy at the end of next week at which point there is the big reveal of whether or not I’ve been receiving the drug and I’m torn between getting through to that point as it’s only like 10 days away or cutting my losses as 46 bowel movements in 3 days is clearly ridiculous
Any thoughts?
I don’t know whether it’s a lack of empathy or just a lack of emotional intelligence but i really struggle communicating with people when they are sick and end up giving the impression that i don’t care
I just don’t know what to say and then start worrying about saying or doing the wrong thing so end up doing and saying nothing. It happened when my mum was sick before she died and is now happening with my best friend who i share a place with. I wonder if its maybe a defence mechanism
And an added complication is I’ve got Crohn’s disease which has been flaring badly for the last few months, although that’s not an excuse in itself
Is there anyway of improving that side of myself as i really don’t want to be that person
I managed to get my helmet caught in one of the stands outside Waterloo station and it’s taken a nibble out of the front of it.
Helmets aren’t really my area of expertise, is it still structurally sound or do i need to look into replacing it?
Long story short I’ve been experimenting with intermittent fasting and only eating in a 8 hour window for the last month or so to see if that helps reduce bowel movements and the stomach cramps that accompany it.
I can’t work out whether it’s having a positive impact or whether it’s the result of other things such as taking 20mg of prednisone a day, i did lose quite a bit of weight initially but that’s now stabilised
Does anyone else have any experience of intermittent fasting both good and bad?
