Can under-treating hair cause it to come back thicker?

If you’re under treating the hair then the mechanism could be the same as laser - low level heat stimulates the follicle instead of killing it?

My electrologist uses the lowest setting on my face, she says if the hair releases it’s good enough. I want to believe her but I am getting a distinct feeling the many hairs are coming back thicker.

Are you doing anything to hedge your Amazon position?

Have 20+ year old RSUs. About 20% of portfolio. Debating what to do. One thought is to sell out of short term VOO positions into XMAG to reduce portfolio drag from mag7 stocks if a recovery is way out in the future. I don’t dabble in options. I should have had a strategy to slowly diversify but never really doubted the stock, and still don’t but fear the market’s AI mania adds an unpredictable dimension to the stock’s performance on an unpredictable horizon.

Perifollicular hyperpigmentation on cheeks - should I take a break? How long? How to prevent?

Have had a few sessions on the cheeks to get rid of fine long dark hair all over my cheeks. The left cheek is super sensitive especially this area, that already had some atrophic pitting and freckles before starting but you can see in the pic there’s a ton of follicles that have gained pink/brown color. It’s been almost 4 weeks since last treatment. Aftercare is usually aloe Vera gel, then bacitracin and sunscreen/tranexamic acid. I am going to start adding hypochlorous acid spray. It worked really well on my chin.

Is this normal? How long will it take to fade? Thinking of stopping for some time at least on this part of the cheek which seems to be more reactive

Would I feel plucking if I numbed my skin?

I put numbing cream for an hour before my session. Would I be able to feel if my electrologist is plucking instead of the hair easily sliding out? She treats a few hair and then uses the tongs (I’ve been able to figure that out). Sometimes I feel like I see a scab or two with hair still in them.

Want to fire in next 12-18 months hopefully less, how to manage investments?

Hello! 43F, 4.5M total. Have 650K cash (in sgov) I've been sitting on for extremely dumb reasons. I planned to work till I was 50, but now, I am ready to get the hell out. Make 650K a year W2. Getting real anxiety about my investable base being lower due to the 650K cash but also afraid to lumpsum it in. Already deployed 350K this year mostly in international and some AI stocks, 15% return so far. With high inflation, high interest rates coming, how would you approach this 650K? I was thinking of putting in 500K lumpsum into VOO and more international/value/managed futures and keeping 150K as my dry powder + cash buffer. Any other thoughts? I am staying for an extra year so I can put my quarterly stock vests plus bonus towards my mortgage to bring the balance down to 50% LTV before I call it quits (or at least take an extended career break). I will have 2.75M as my taxable bridge to last me at least 16 years until I can access retirement assets at 59.5 or whenever it is.

Debating adding 3mg boron to improve free T without adding more T. Currently on 1.5mg eod t prop, and estrogen has shot up a lot, and I don’t want to add any more T as it will just convert to E. Wondering if I need to cycle it on/off every few weeks? Has it worked for you long term?
