I have 6 stripped Lee Enfield No4 Mk1 receivers, as well as a few other different actions, that I would like to have barreled and chambered in different calibers for fun. Could anyone recommend any gunsmithing machine shops online that could machine those barrels from blanks and fit them to the receivers? I’m not looking for top quality from the barrels. They don’t have to be super accurate or have the best finish. Just looking for barrels that work for reasonable prices. My local gunsmith is nearing retirement and he’s not necessarily equipped for something like this so needing to find another way for these future projects.
It’s hot outside but not as hot as it would be if the toaster’s heating element were just a little bigger.
Pictured are a few of my favorite things from FNV:
-The toaster with an all consuming urge to kill from Old World Blues.
-A nice refreshing Sunset Sarsaparilla.
-The Survivalist’s Rifle from Honest Hearts.
If you’re curious about The Survivalist’s Rifle then I have another post on it here.
Just got my first revolver. Charter Arms Target Pitbull 9mm. So far I really like it but these engravings on the barrel are killing me. Sorry for the silly goober question but what’s the legality on removing the manufacturer name and address engraving from the barrel? Is it a no no or can I have it removed? If it’s ok then what’s a good way I can have it removed while looking good and keeping the stainless look?
(Don’t mind the lack of the sights. I took them off and just haven’t put them back on yet.)
I tried getting a decent video of shooting the Survivalist’s rifle but it was embarrassingly ruined the first shot. I guess the forward assist got stuck forward when I pressed it to make sure the bolt was fully seated. This of course caused the FA to still be engaged with the bolt carrier as it reciprocated and launched the FA out shearing the roll pin. Never noticed it sticking before. Thought it was funny tho so figured I’d still share it.
Anyways… the recoil is stout but my string bean physique can handle it so it’s not too bad. I need to adjust the adjustable gas block to hopefully soften it some. It jammed after the third round because the fourth round rammed nose-first into the feed ramp. The magazines are gonna need some more work to make the tips of the cartridges sit up higher. Once I do that it should run great.
I’ve always loved this gun in Fallout New Vegas. I’m so happy that I can say I have one IRL now.
Here is my first post on this rifle for more info and pics.
