Thank you to everyone who signed up for the harbor0 beta.

Hey all,

Yesterday I posted here asking for beta users for harbor0. Since then 115 of you have signed up, which is a lot more than I expected. Thank you, really. Every signup, bug report and email has been useful, and a lot of you took the time to tell me what you'd need before switching.

A few things came up again and again in the comments and emails, so here's what I'm working on next:

End-to-end encryption
This has been the most requested feature by far. Encryption will be opt-in per account. Once it's on, your files are encrypted on your device before they're uploaded, and harbor0 can't read them. I'm taking my time with the design, because getting encryption wrong is worse than not having it. I'll share more about how it works, including the tradeoffs, before it ships.

Two-factor authentication
You'll be able to add a second factor to your account sign-in. This one should come fairly soon.

WebDAV and rclone support (planned)
Lots of you asked to use harbor0 with tools you already have, like file managers, NAS boxes and backup scripts. WebDAV and rclone support are both planned. It's early, so I don't have dates yet. I'll post updates as it gets closer.

The Windows, iOS and Android apps are still in development too, and getting the Mac app notarised is on the list.

Please keep telling me what's confusing or broken. Reply here or email me at contact@harbor0.com I read everything.

Thanks again for giving a small, early project a chance.

How do you make your saas app ready for production?

For people building SaaS apps heavily with Cursor/Claude Code/Codex/Lovable/Bolt/etc:

What does your deployment stack look like once you want to turn the generated app into a real production product?

Generating the application itself is getting ridiculously fast.

I'm curious whether infrastructure is becoming the next bottleneck — setting up hosting, auth, database, storage, functions, secrets, background jobs, domains, logs, monitoring and everything else the application eventually needs.

I'm working on a hosting platform aimed at making that transition much simpler.

Before building too much, I'm trying to figure out whether people actually experience this problem.

If you've shipped an AI-assisted app:

  • Where did deployment become difficult?
  • Which infrastructure did you have to add manually?
  • Did you feel comfortable with the resulting production setup?
  • Which parts did you have to learn despite mostly wanting to work on the product?
  • What are you currently hosting on?

And if there were a platform specifically designed to take these apps from code to a production-ready environment with the common infrastructure already handled, would you use it?

More importantly, would you pay for it rather than continuing to assemble the stack yourself?

Drinking copious amounts of ghee and then bragging about it on social media

I came across this reel from Rajasthan on Instagram and now I’m genuinely curious, how common is it in this state?

And no matter what your arguments may be in favour of drinking an obscene amount of ghee are, it cannot be good for your health for the common person. Promoting and bragging about it on social media in a country with a very poor average heart health is once again too absurd.

I can understand the thought process that their ancestors used to do the same, but the amount of physical labour they did was intense compared to what people do now.

Help me understand this folks, how do they manage to digest all of it and not get sick??

EDIT:
People who keep mentioning that there has been no heart health crisis in Rajasthan and drinking ghee is common in their community and they can easily digest an obscene amount of it, the statistics say otherwise

Official government data says coronary heart diseases contribute to 24.8% of all deaths in Rajasthan in 2023, That is 1 in every 4 people.

Read up on these if you have the time: https://uat.crsorgi.gov.in/assets/download/Annual-Reports/mccd/2023.pdf

Also read up on survivorship bias for the people whose family members/grandparents are drinking ghee without any health issues.

If you believe people in your community have superior genes or something, please donate them to science, y'all need to be thoroughly studied for the sake of humanity

Newbie coffee enthusiast here! please rate my moka extraction

Started grinding and brewing my own coffee since a couple of weeks ago. Initially I struggled with sputtering in the moka pot even before the extraction started, but I think now I've kind of gotten the hang of it. Also using a paper filter beneath the actual moka filter yields really amazing results.

Beans used: Blue Tokai Sliver Oak Cafe blend

If anybody has any good bean recommendations feel free to drop 'em below!

Why does every Siliguri related page on ig and fb look like marketing pages for Darjeeling?

Basically the title, I really don’t mean any disrespect here, Darjeeling is one of my favourite places, but looking at those pages that I mentioned, it really seems like all Siliguri has to offer is a close proximity to the nearby hill stations.
I’m genuinely confused.

[tuix/Go] A file browser built on my own React-style TUI framework — from `hello, world` to this in one library

tuix — A terminal UI framework written in Go, inspired by React

Released tuix, a Go framework for building TUI apps using a React-style component model.

If you've hit the limits of Bubble Tea or tview, the short version: tuix gives you functional components, UseState/UseEffect/UseContext hooks, real flexbox layout (so you're not doing manual string composition with lipgloss), and a cell-level diff renderer so only changed characters get redrawn. Built-in components cover the usual suspects — Table, Tabs, Modal, Input, Button, Checkbox, List, SelectPicker, Spinner, ProgressBar, Alert, Badge, Panel.

12 runnable examples in the repo — go run ./examples/<name>.

Note: I have made use of AI during the development of this project, mainly for design discussions and figuring out edge cases.
