I wish I felt pregnant

14w pregnant and I still don’t feel pregnant I just feel sick and fat. It’s clear to me that I’m getting bigger because my pants and bras aren’t fitting as well, but as someone with PCOS it just feels like I’m gaining more weight again. I can’t see a bump like other women at 14w and it’s really depressing me. Am I just not going to have one? Am I simply just going to grow larger?

I’m also just in general feeling very discouraged with my weight and where it might be heading. I don’t weigh myself at home as an ED recovery tool but when I had my 12w ultrasound I was 30lbs heavier than I remember being. I obviously don’t know when that happened but now I’m super concerned about how much I’m going to gain during pregnancy and postpartum, as that’s the normal thing to happen. I’ve been nauseated and vomiting my entire first trimester and really struggling to eat but clearly I’m continuing to gain. Not only am I worried about this for myself but also for the health of my baby.

I’ve seen so many plus sized moms talking about not gaining any weight during their pregnancy or even trying to lose weight. That would be great as an option but even though I haven’t stopped doing my incredibly active job, I haven’t been able to pick up any more exercise due to absolute exhaustion or change my eating habits since I’m barely eating as is.

There is very little through line here I’m just worried about everything right now and I just want my baby to be ok and I want to experience the joys of pregnancy and not continue to get fatter.

When do I stop being terrified something is wrong?

12w2d and I’m CONSTANTLY terrified something has happened and the baby is gone. I’m plus sized so it’s very hard for me to see a bump of any kind. I have symptoms but cramping and round ligament pain feels the same to me. What if something is happening as opposed to normal pregnancy symptoms?? I have an ultra sound tomorrow thank god but I’m preparing for the worst. It doesn’t help that I’ve seen so many loss posts today.

When does this stop? Does it stop? Do you feel a little better when you start to feel kicks? I don’t even know when that’s actually supposed to happen. It’s like I’m still not ready to trust in even actually pregnant!

First trimester tips

How are yall getting through the first trimester? I’m 8 weeks today and I feel so sick all the time. I haven’t thrown up yet, but I’m constantly nauseous and fatigued. I get overheated really easily and constant feel like I need to sit or lay down. I feel like I have the flu but I’m supposed to go into work today and just pretend like everything is normal. I’m desperate for some tips or hacks to get me through so I don’t have to tell people I’m pregnant too early or take off work longer than I have to. I have a fairly active job as well so I feel like I’m working myself to death and I still have like a month to go.

Good things about pregnancy?

I’m definitely freaking out a little. I’m FTM 7weeks in and I’m just starting to have symptoms pick up. It’s not god awful yet but after reading through posts on this sub I’m terrified about how much worse things are going to get. I’ve wanted to be a mom my entire life and I had read about these symptoms before, but this pregnancy was more of a surprise than we were hoping for and now I’m regretting everything. I need to stop scaring myself by reading about all the bad things so I would love to know some of the good things you experienced while pregnant.

Unless everyone really is having a horrible time the whole time and then idk what I’m gonna do 🫠

Just got a positive

I just got my first positive test and I’m freaking out a little. My husband and I have been talking about having kids for a while now but we’ve been on and off in “a good place in our lives” and a bad one for the past two years. I went off my birth control towards the beginning of the year, knowing I have PCOS and my fertility didn’t look good. The assumption was that we would let my body accumulate to not having the hormones and stop preventing before fully trying. So we’ve been doing that for several months, and nothing happened, which was expected. What I didn’t expect was a positive test after one of the worst and most stressful months of my life that’s made me rethink everything about whether or not I’m actually ready. All I’ve ever wanted is kids and I’ve known that I wanted to start trying around 30, but I had finally come to terms with waiting another year or so (my husbands preference) and boom, potential baby.

I don’t know, we’re both so exhausted and he didn’t give me the best reaction when I told him the new either so now I’m reconsidering everything.

Just Thinking

They must have already drawn their portraits, right? Do you think they’ll still include Karina’s? This departure feels very sudden, I wonder if there are other videos it’s going to affect.

Oh so normal people aren’t like this huh

I’m starting to realize how different my life experience is from other people without hEDS and it’s getting to me. I learned people don’t like standing in lines because they’re bored??? Not because it hurts?????? I have always wondered how people are able to do their hair in the morning because if I do more than brush and blow dry/dry shampoo, my shoulders and arms start killing me. I tried a French braid this week and felt like I had to lay down afterwards. I’m also in an incredibly intensive training right now for a new job and I never realized how much it hurts to just sit all day. I’ve always been in very active positions, and even though this is one, the training has me sitting at a table staring at an iPad for 8 hours every day for 2 and a half weeks. The chairs are uncomfortable, I can’t raise or cross my legs correctly so my hips hurt, and I’ve never had this much neck and upper back pain in my life. They won’t let me sit on the floor. I know tech neck is a thing but how do people DO THIS??? Last month I hurt my wrist from holding my phone up too long during a concert and it was sore for several weeks. I feel completely broken but like I have to push through because that’s what I’ve always done and I can’t just start asking for accommodations now without risking wariness about the things I actually can do. It’s infuriating.
