What's a quick way to build up SQC?

I applied for the Amex Aeroplan Reserve in March of this year. So far, I’ve earned 10,000 SQC and 70,000 EDQ through spending on this card, and I need about 15,000 SQC or 30,000 EDQ more to reach 25k status.

I won’t be flying internationally this year or next year, but I plan to take a few domestic flights.

Since this is my first year exploring Aeroplan, I’ve used Asia Miles exclusively in the past. I’d like to know: for domestic flights, what’s the typical number of flights needed to reach 15,000 SQC? Are there any other ways to accumulate SQC quickly? Also, is it worth doing a points rush? As a Premium credit cardholder, it seems that most of the 25k benefits are already covered, with the exception of free seat selection.

Trying to submit a trip cancellation claim, any advise?

I’ve had diarrhea for several days, so I went to a walk-in clinic to see a doctor. I don’t have a family doctor. The doctor diagnosed me with gastroenteritis, advised me to rest at home rather than fly, and provided me with a doctor’s note. Are there any other supporting documents I need?

I paid for the full cost of my ticket using Aeroplan Reserve. I’ve been researching Global Excel’s claims process and have noticed the company doesn’t seem to have a strong reputation, so I want to make sure I’ve covered all the bases. Thank you for the help!

First time filing an Amex Aeroplan Reserve trip cancellation insurance claim – any advice?

I purchased an AC Basic Fare ticket from YYZ to LHR and paid for it in full with my Amex Aeroplan Reserve card.

Unfortunately, I recently became sick. I visited the clinic today, and the doctor has advised me to stay in bed and not travel, so I'll need to cancel my trip. I'm planning to file a trip cancellation insurance claim through the card's insurance, but this is my first time making an insurance claim.

For anyone who's been through the process:

  • What documents should I prepare?
  • Is there anything I should be careful about to avoid having the claim denied?
  • Any tips or common mistakes to watch out for?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences. I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Amex Aeroplan Reserve: Will My Friends Still Get Free Checked Bags If I Don't Travel with them after I booked the flight tickets under my name.

A few months ago, I booked four Basic fare tickets from LHR to YYZ using my Amex Aeroplan Reserve Card, one for myself and three for my friends. Unfortunately, due to a personal situation, I am no longer able to travel, and the tickets are non-refundable.

I would like to ask whether, in this situation, my friends will still be eligible for the free first checked bag benefit when they check in on their own, or whether they will be required to pay the checked baggage fee since I am not shown at the check-in counter.

Thank you.

Need Advice: Can I Graduate by Summer 2027 with a 3+3.5+3 Credit Plan?

Hi there,

At the start of the fall 2026 semester, because I had participated in co-op work terms for two consecutive semesters, I had only completed 10.5 credits. I had originally planned to take 5 credits during the 2026–2027 academic year, followed by 2 credits in the summer of 2027 and 2.5 credits in the fall of 2027, to graduate in December 2027.

However, after carefully reviewing the degree requirements, I realized that by the end of next semester, I will have fulfilled all major course requirements. The remaining credits will consist entirely of elective requirements.

I am now wondering if I can graduate by the end of the summer of 2027 by taking 3 credits in the fall of 2026, 3.5 credits in the winter of 2027 (requiring an application for an overload), and 3 credits in the summer of 2027—for a total of 9.5 credits.

My GPA is well above the minimum requirement of 2.5, and I have consistently maintained a GPA of 3.7 or 4.0 in at least one or two courses each semester. In addition, I have the full CR/NCR option available (four courses), which would help reduce stress if needed.

I would very much appreciate hearing about your personal experiences or receiving some advice on whether this plan is feasible. Thx!

Do all Year 3 students get the same course enrolment time on ACORN?

There are only 12 spots left in a required course I’m taking, and most of them have been snapped up by Year 4 students. According to Acorn, my slot is at 11:30 a.m. I’m wondering whether everyone else has the same time or if it varies. I’ve been trying to secure a spot in this course since my second year, all the way through my fourth year. If I can’t get in this time, I’ll have to drop this minor....
