Magnum bottle of blood

I have a question about the auction. Maybe this was super obvious to others but it just dawned on me that the most valuable item in the auction lot is Lestat's blood since it also has Akasha's blood in it. Is that why so many vamps turned up to the auction? They want the power or protection of having Akasha's blood. Initially, I thought the auction lot was popular because the vamps wanted to know how Akasha was awoken. But after the finale when Lestat wonders if anyone will listen to the recordings or if they will just be returned to him, I began to wonder if the failures recordings are a misdirect and all anyone wants is Lestat's blood. Was this obvious to everyone else? Does it make any sense?

I love you's

We see a lot of Lestat's reaction to the IWTV book in episode 1 of TVL. Especially the passages about Claudia on the train, Harlequin vs Lelio, the meaning of infinitesimal and whether it was raining or not. But, we don't see a reaction to Louis telling Armand that he loves him, both in Paris and probably through Daniel's telling of events in Dubai where Louis repeatedly says that Armand is the love of his life.

We are aware of how desperate Lestat is to hear that Louis loves him. Why don't we see how upset Lestat is to read the ease by which Louis says it to Armand? It would have been great to see that conflict and questioning of whether Louis ever loved him because he never said it. It might have been a bigger pay off for the TVL season finale when Paul shows up.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the finale and that scene with Paul in particular was my favorite. But it would have been nice to highlight that turmoil a bit, at least for Lestat. As an audience, we get that pay off with the events in the butchers scene where Louis clarifies the relationship with Lestat versus Armand. But Lestat is not privy to that conversation. Will he always think that Louis loved Armand?

I'm not sure what I am trying to get at here, just saying that it would have been nice for Lestat to consider how Louis behaved in his relationship with him versus Armand especially with how often he professed his love for Armand and complimented his lifestyle and care while being more critical of Lestat and his choices.

"Rest" and "he got in mine"

Sorry if this has already been answered but I didn't see any posts about it.

When Lestat and Louis are having dinner with Daniel at Louis' restaurant, when Daniel says "rest" when discussing what Lestat plans to do after his final concert, Louis reacts slightly and his facial expressions momentarily change (blink and you will miss it). I picked up on it for obvious reasons, namely that whenever Armand says it, all hell breaks loose.

Later in the car, when discussing Daniel trying to get in their heads, Louis mentions "he got in mine" and again makes a face. Initially, I thought it was that he got in Louis' head and saw how much Louis loves Lestat and is clouded by the fog of love.

But now, I'm wondering if he somehow triggered Louis by saying rest and somehow mind controlled(?) him. Does anyone have any thoughts on it? I just don't really know how it fits with the outcome of this episode and the next one since all events mostly happen independently of Louis' actions. What does it mean? Or is it a red herring?

Let's talk about "lick me, Lem"

I have watched episode 6 a completely normal number of times. But, in this particular scene, I was so focused on jealoustat and him joking about Lem that I missed what Louis was ACTUALLY saying to Lemuel.

Was Lem at the restaurant prepping everything for Loustat's arrival? Why did Louis tell him to "tell them to keep it simple"?

Keep what simple? Also, Lemuel is Louis lawyer, right? Why would he be arranging Lestat's arrival at the restaurant? And why didn't we see him? Or was he elsewhere but giving instructions to the restaurant workers?

I have so many questions! The scene is wild now that I can actually pay attention to the story!

Why was Lpuis excited to meet Sophia?

Louis knew that Sophia and Lestat were together in some manner, but for some reason it seems like he seemed excited to meet her. Why? He seemed a bit jealous when he met Christine and his been jealous in the past. Why was he so keen to meet her and smiled giddly when mentioning to Dan that he would meet her?

Am I misreading the situation?

Kissing?

Does Louis initiate every single onscreen kiss we see in the show? Does that say something about Lestat and his view on consent? Or about their relationship dynamic in general? Does it show how Louis truly felt in wanting and needing Lestat but also loving him?

I ask because I was watching TVL episode 6 and thinking about the bar scene when Lesat leans into Louis when he misread the situation and thought Louis wanted to kiss. And he doesn't actively pursue it. He gives up quite quickly. It might say more about the situation they were in and how emotionally raw he was in the moment. But, something about it made me look back at their earlier kisses and how they were always(?) or often initiated by Louis and were very passionate and all encompassing. I don't quite know where I'm going with this but basically i'm asking whether it is a reflection on Lestat's way of not wanting to push intimacy onto Louis.

Heartbeat and breathing

Did Louis and Lestat's heart beats and breathing sync up during the mediation scene in episode 2 of TVL? Or at the concert? Or the entirety of episode 6? Ooh ooh or while their heads were temporarily misplaced? Would their bodies still sync up like that since their bodies were in the same space?

The show is over and I'm still not over the Loustat goodness.

Claudia

Can we take a minute to discuss how beautiful Lestat's reaction was when he thought that he would get to see Claudia again at the Long Table? And then the look of disappointment when Magnus says that she is not coming. Beautiful. Important. Stunningly acted.

I think seeing Claudia again during the seance opened the flood gates for Lestat. Seeing how vicious she can be, overjoyed Lestat.

It was one of my absolute favorite moments of the episode. You could feel Claudia missing from the Long Table. Lestat would still take any opportunity to see Claudia again. Not Fraudia. Real, real Claudia.

I love their relationship even if it was totally messed up!

Help with picking an engagement ring

Hi! I need some advice. I am really struggling to find an engagement ring that I like. Some context, I never thought about getting married nor have I ever thought of what my dream engagement ring would be. When my partner proposed, I had to start thinking about what ring I want and I have no clue. I'm so upset about it because I usually trust my instincts and find things that I like easily but I am drawing a complete blank with this decision. It's bothering me so much.

It would be great if anyone has some advice that could really help. I have quite short fingers that are quite chubby where the ring sits on the finger. My ring size is 6.5 US.

The only ring type that I was most impressed by recently was a Marquis cut East West engagement ring. I like how unique they look but after poring over Pinterest, I can't find one that really feels right. Any advice would honestly be so helpful. I'm so devastated that I can't find something.

Guilt

Louis was deifnitely lying about why he conjured Dreamstat. It didn't seem like guilt. He needed him and missed him so he conjured a version of him that he wanted. Or am I wrong?

I found it especially funny because when Lestat is not forthcoming about Louis being one of his muses, Louis gets annoyed that he is withholding. Even though, (imo) he flat out lies about why he saw Dreamstat.

Was guilt the reason he complained to Lestat about his photography or saw him in the intimate scene with Armand? I don't think so.

Finale theory

Sorry if this is dumb or has already been suggested...

I suck at coming up with theories but here goes. In the car on the way to the rehearsal for the show after they met with Daniel in the latest episode, Louis says that Daniel got in his mind and then stared ominously at Lestat. At first, I thought it was because he was nervous that Daniel saw how much he was thinking of and yearning for Lestat.

Now, I'm wondering if there's more to it. Could there have been some conspiring about the events that happen at the end of the episode? Louis doesn't want Lestat to perform. He tells him several times throughout the episode. Could Louis be collaborating with Daniel and Armand? Or at least with the anti-great conversion movement?

Fan boy Louis

Louis genuinely seems to enjoy Rockstar Lestat. He likes the music, the adoration Lestat is receiving and the whole persona in general. In episode 6, he tells Lestat to interact with the fans, claps afterwards and praises his performance and achievements. It was so lovely to see Louis acknowledge Lestat's career as a musician and definitely is reminiscent of his love for Lestat's music in season 1. I absolutely love it!

I wonder if this is different to the way Nicki or Gabriella approached Lestat's performances/career. I have never read the books but I have read posts talking about how resentful they were of Lestat's lightness and joy. I wonder whether that is what differentiates Louis from Lestat's other long term lovers. Louis genuinely revels in Lestat's outgoing personality and performance despite lamenting him for it in season 1 and 2. When he performs with Jelly Roll in season 1, Louis also reveres that scene. He feels like such a Lestat fan boy and I love it!

The lean

Did anyone else notice at the end of the bar scene in episode 6 when Louis says "Or...", Lestat leans a little into him. Like he was going for a kiss! But Louis turns back to drink more of Lestat's blood. So, Lestat does not pursue it.

Am I just crazy and starved for a Loustat kiss? Plausible considering it has been like 11 episodes since they last kissed and that was with Dreamstat so it doesn't even count. But was there something there? Help please!

Makeup and mental state

I want to ask whether anyone else noticed that the amount of makeup that Lestat wears correlates with his mental state. So, when Armand appears and Gabriella disappears, he is wearing the most makeup. Also, when Gabriella is around, his makeup is very heavy. And these are the moments when he is at his lowest.

While when he sees Louis and Regina (and based on the preview pics for the next episode) his makeup is very toned down. Is there a connection? Like he wears more makeup to hide how much of a hard time he is having? Just something that came to my mind and would like to know if others noticed this too!

Telepathy early on

Before Lestat turned Louis, he could read Louis mind and Louis was completely unaware of it (he only found out that they could read minds after being turned). I am so curious what Lestat heard. Did he find out that Louis loved him back? Is that why he confidently told Louis in the church "i send my love to you and you send it back round to me" and "know that it scares me as much as it does you"? Could Lestat see that Louis was daydreaming about them being together?

I would love to know what he heard!

Is it meaningful....

Is it meaningful that Lestat wooes Louis and beckons him by singing "Come to me" when that is what Akasha said to him?

Or is it just unrelated? I hope there's some deeper meaning there but I can admit to also being so obsessed with the show that I am looking for Loustat crumbs wherever I can find them!

Sam Reid is aging like fine wine

Is it just me or is he looking better and better each season/episode? In particular during the scenes of him with Nicki from episode 3, he was stunning! It was almost distracting from the dramatic events in the scene and the incredible acting from both performers (almost!). He just looks so good!

And then the shower from episode 4....I'm not sure how much more my heart can take!

Regarding a comment on TVL

I saw a comment on the general post for episode 4 where the commenter expressed that they would have preferred to binge TVL rather than watch new episodes weekly. I don't have a problem with the comment per se, everyone should enjoy tv based on their preference.

However, I wanted to express why I have really enjoyed the season so far and why I like watching it weekly and would like to see what others prefer.

I am loving this season. It's such a different approach to the universe, compared to the first two seasons. Lestat is chaotic and messy. I love it! Rather than the composed (fake?) and structured storytelling from Louis, i am really enjoying the way Lestat is telling his story. It shows how different they are as characters. Also, Sam Reid is an amazing actor. I'm enthralled by him. I'm hypnotized from start to end of each episode.

The commenter said that they enjoy the show but that by the end of each episode, they are left feeling low/empty because the show takes you from extreme highs to extreme lows and leaves you wanting by the end of each episode. I actually LOVE that about the show. Like with Louis, it draws us into how Lestat feels. It shows us how he can be feeling/doing great but then in the end is still left wanting or is lonely and sad. It draws me into his psyche and life. It's wonderful. It's hard to endure and definitely an uncomfortable watch at times, but I think that's the whole point. We are with him and living through his experiences and intense loneliness. I'm so captivated by it. I feel like i'm holding my breath throughout each episode and can only relax when it's over. The Rollercoaster ride that it is!

Then I spend a whole day thinking about it trying to absorb everything that I have seen and experienced. The season (and overall show) has left such a mark on me. I want to go on this ride with Lestat. I want to see who he is and what has shaped him and his actions. I want to experience it all with him. It leaves me wanting the next episode so badly.

How do other people feel about this? Would you prefer to binge watch it? Or savor every moment live with Lestat? I am so curious to hear other opinions!

Season 2 Lestat

I have only watched the IWTV and just finished watching episode 3 of TVL. I wanted to revisit part of season 2 of IWTV, specifically the trial in the penultimate episode.

Prior to the trial, Lestat was very reluctant to return to Paris whenever Claudia or Louis brought it up. I always assumed it was because he had baggage/unfinished business with the coven. It was only after watching the latest episode of TVL that I truly grasped how much baggage and trauma he must have carried from that time.

Did he overcome all of his trauma and issues purely to save Louis (and Claudia if he could)? If so, that must have been so traumatic, especially when combined with the events after the trial. His visit to Magnus' lare must have also been incredibly triggering.

Wow! If it's true, he must really love Louis. And to think he had to relive those traumatic experiences all alone. Sorry, I just really have a lot more context about his return to Paris and (I guess his narrative is also biased) but damn it's breaking my heart right now...
