First post in this community - wanted to say hi

Hey everyone, just stumbled upon this sub and it seems really supportive and friendly so I wanted to say hi!

I’ve been drawing for about 5 years, and recently been transitioning into more stylised pieces and digital art. Here’s a few from this last week or so! Slides 2-4 took about an hour, but slide 1 was 7.5. Lots of the details were pulled from imagination which I’m not great at doing just yet.

I’m open to any crits, comments, discussions etc. Look forward to meeting some people here!

Am I overcooking this?

I was working on an original character. I am really happy with the sketch, though the drawing is in a less realistic style than I usually do. Nevertheless I kept my painting process mostly the same.

Now I am doubting a bit whether they match up well and I should’ve gone for something different.

Here are 4 photos from the process: is there a moment where it goes ‘too far’? Where does it look best (can be in between stages)? I think maybe somewhere after the t colours it might’ve begun to lose its direction.

Opinions and recommendations welcome! Maybe it needs to go even FURTHER!
