The rift feels too mystical and out of place for the games aesthetic

*Just for preface I know the game is unfinished

Maybe I havent read the lore too much and ( the update did just come out ) but part of me feels like the rift doesnt really fit with the game vibe. It seems almost too mystical, a step too far into that direction.

I do recall the maelstrom from Lady Geist VN which is fantastical but I feel like that is a vital event that is a catalyst for a story rather some random rip in reality.

There are liches, vampires, demons, magical forces like seven and eldritch monsters like The Doorman but they all seem like the lore points to why they exist. I guess the argument would be that because of the heavy increase of magical powers in the area, a rift gets ripped open. But that just feels a little lame to me, like a cop out.

I dont know what they could change it to, maybe some steam-punk technology that spawns that augments your troopers instead of a random rift that does some magic to buff them .Its possible that more lore could be added and that could change my mind.

Thats just my two cents though

I put together this prototype of a 3D platformer with relative gravity. I'm putting the project to rest now, but thought I could show some clips of what I worked on here :)

Super fun project to work on. Unfortunately, the environment art was just too tough on scope for me to do. Still really proud of what I accomplished with it though. Some of the clips are a lil jank, have some grace pls <3

Thanks to this subreddit, I realized why my dryer wasn’t drying my clothes

It’s a miracle I’ve lived this long tbh. I had no clue you were supposed to clean this thing out. I know it’s stupid (now) but my dumb ass never knew
