The ultimate wooting (IMO)
Finally finished what I think is my endgame Wooting.
This build took way longer than I expected. Lubing and filming every single switch was honestly a pain, but it was 100% worth it.
Parts list :
- Wooting 60HE+ module
- KBDfans Holy60 anodized black case
- Polycarbonate plate
- Geon RAW HE switches, hand-lubed with 205g0 and filmed with Keebmat poron thock film
- TX AP screw in stabilizers with bandaid mod
- Keebmat Keep Tape
- Poron switch pad
- Plate foam
- PCB foam
- PCB backing film
- Case foam
- PBT Fans Crosshair keycaps
Unfortunately, I don’t have a proper microphone to record a sound test, but the difference in person is huge. These are probably my favorite Hall Effect switches that I’ve tried so far. The sound is so much closer to a mechanical keyboard than I expected while still keeping all the advantages of Hall Effect.
The Holy60 isn’t exactly known for having the best acoustics, but I think all the foam, the polycarbonate plate, and the lubed/filmed switches made a huge difference.
This is probably my endgame keyboard. It has the sound and feel of a custom mechanical keyboard with the performance and responsiveness of analog Hall Effect switches.
Wooting really nailed the platform, and I couldn’t be happier with how this build turned out!
