Inpatient migraine treatment at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital with Dr. Alex Feoktistov

My doctor wants me to try inpatient migraine treatment for refractory chronic vestibular migraine at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital Comprehensive Migraine and Headache Unit next week. I’m very nervous, but I’m willing to try it.

Has anyone done inpatient treatment here? How did it go?

I started Nurtec as a preventative this week. It has helped somewhat with head and ear pressure and sound sensitivity, but has seemingly caused some side effects.

Has anyone experienced feet and facial tingling, eye pressure, chest pressure, fatigue, sedation, dry mouth, or quick stabbing head pain after taking nurtec? Did the side effects stop after consistent use of nurtec?

Most of these side effects dissipate by the next day except for the feet tingling. My doctor is aware but wants me to try nurtec for a couple weeks to see if we get my migraine under control. He hopes that this will help my nervous system calm down and I won’t react so strongly to medications in general.

I took one dose of 125mg diamox 48 hours ago and experienced many of its known side effects. However, the sound sensitivity which triggers mild dull ear pain is still lingering. Even everyday sounds are amplified and irritating.

Has anyone else experienced sound sensitivity with mild ear pain after taking diamox? How long did it take for it to go away?
