Are there any theories on why you're always safe at 6 am on the dot?

In the early games, the player is always safe when the clock strikes 6, even if one of the animatronics is close enough to grab you. It can't be the sun coming up that makes them stop attacking, since during the summer months it would be light before 6 AM, and in November when FNAF 2 is set it would still be dark then. Has anyone else ever wondered about this?

Does anyone remember Just Another Night At Freddy's?

Just Another Night At Freddy's was a fanfiction series by DeltaV that was written in the earliest days of the FNAF fandom. The basic premise is that the animatronics are malfunctioning AI, rather than ghosts, and they become Mike's friends after he visits them during the day they realize he isn't an endoskeleton. The series is mostly slice of life, but it does occasionally have some scary moments, such as in the second installment where some crooks break into the pizzeria and two of them get stuffed (it predicted something that would happen in the movie 9 years later, XD).
