Period started the day I arrived at the beach… what would you do?

I’m so annoyed right now. 😭
I arrived at the beach today for a 10-day vacation… and my period started literally on the first day.
The worst part is that my cycle isn’t regular enough to predict when it’s coming, so there wasn’t really anything I could do to prepare.
My first 3 days are pretty heavy, day 4 is still not great, day 5 gets lighter, and after that I still have several days of light bleeding/discharge. It honestly feels like I’m going to lose most of my beach vacation because of this.
What would you do in this situation? Do you still go swimming (tampons, menstrual cups, etc.), or do you just accept that you’ll have to stay out of the water for a while? I’d really appreciate any tips because I’m genuinely upset.

What food would you bring on a 2-day train ride?

I’m going to be on a train for almost 48 hours with no fridge…
I’m trying to think of foods that won’t go bad and aren’t just junk food. Ideally I’d like something high in protein, low in fat, and with little or no added sugar.
I don’t really want to spend two days eating junk food, especially since I’ll be sitting on a train most of the time.
What would you bring?

For the past year I’ve slowly stopped being able to connect with people

I’m 17, and for about a year now (maybe a little longer) something has been seriously wrong with me socially, and I honestly don’t know how to explain it.
It feels like I’ve forgotten how to be around people.
I used to have friends and different friend groups. Now I’ve either drifted away from most of them or stopped talking to them completely. I haven’t really made any new friends during this time either.
The weird thing is that I don’t think this was ever my choice.
It’s not that I hate people or don’t want friends. A lot of the time I actually want the opposite. I want someone to be around. I want conversations. I want to listen to people talk about their lives and share things about mine. Sometimes I don’t even need to talk about myself, I just want to feel close to someone.
But when it comes to actually interacting with people, something stops me and I don’t know what.
I can see a message from a close friend and leave it unopened for days. Sometimes weeks. Not because I don’t care about them. I do care. I feel awful about it. I know from the outside it probably looks like I’m indifferent or don’t value the friendship, but that’s not how I feel.
There are periods when things get better. I’ll answer messages, talk to people normally, maybe even agree to hang out and actually show up instead of canceling at the last minute. For a while it feels like I’m becoming a normal person again.
Then it disappears.
I fall back into this state of apathy where even basic communication feels exhausting, and I slowly withdraw from everyone again.
The worst part is that I genuinely feel like I’ve lost some social skill over the past year. During conversations my mind is usually somewhere else. I often feel disconnected from people. Sometimes I catch myself thinking that nobody around me really understands me or sees the world the way I do, and I honestly feel embarrassed even admitting that.
I’ve also completely lost my sense of self.
I’ve always struggled with decisions and knowing who I am, but lately it’s become ridiculous. Sometimes I can’t even choose clothes in a store because I genuinely don’t know what I like anymore. It feels like there’s no clear “me” underneath everything.
I also struggle with an eating disorder, and I think it’s been affecting all of this more and more recently, although these issues started before things got this bad.
What hurts the most is that I’m 17 and I feel like I’m wasting my life.
Everyone around me seems to have some kind of social life. People make friends, fall in love, go places, create memories. Meanwhile I feel like I’m standing behind glass watching life happen without being able to participate in it.
I’m tired of living like this.
I don’t even know exactly what I’m asking for.
I just want to know if anyone else has experienced something similar, because lately I’ve been feeling very alone in it.
If this sounds familiar to anyone, I’d really like to hear what your experience was and what helped, if anything.

My 8-year-old Giant African Land Snail (Achatina) started laying eggs again after a 5-year break. Is this normal?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some insight into my snail's behavior because I’m a bit shocked.
I have a Achatina Snail that is 8 years old. She lived with a sibling for only the first six months of her life. Since then, she has been living completely alone—that’s 7.5 years of solitude.
She laid some eggs years ago, but then stopped for about five years. Now, suddenly, she’s laying eggs again like crazy. Here is the recent timeline:
May 6th
May 8th
June 4th
She is laying a massive number of eggs and I’m worried about her. Is it common for them to start self-fertilizing (parthenogenesis) so late in life? Since she’s an "old lady" now, I’m concerned about the toll this is taking on her body.
Has anyone else seen a snail wait 7.5 years to start laying eggs again? Should I change anything in her diet to help her recover?

Noticed thinning fur and small scabs on my cat’s face

I noticed an area of thinning fur (or possible hair loss) around my cat’s mouth/whisker area today. I’m not sure if it appeared suddenly or if I just hadn’t noticed it before.
She was a stray kitten that I adopted in May 2020, so she’s around 6 years old. She is acting completely normal otherwise: eating, drinking, sleeping, playing, grooming herself, and using the litter box as usual.
Yesterday I heard a strange sound from another room and then found her drinking water. I thought she may have sneezed, but I’m not sure. Today I noticed the fur around her mouth looks thinner than usual and now I’m worried.
I don’t see any obvious wounds, bleeding, swelling, or discharge. I also haven’t noticed hair loss anywhere else on her body. As far as I can tell, she isn’t unusually itchy, although I did see her grooming her face quite thoroughly.
I just examined the area more closely and noticed what appear to be a few small scabs/crusts. They are quite small, and I’ll attach close-up photos.
Does this look like something minor, or could it be related to ringworm, mites, allergies, a dental problem, or something else?
Photos attached. The last photo shows what her face normally looks like.
I'm going to go to the vet clinic a little later when my mom gets home. I can't carry her myself because the clinic is far away and I have to go by car.

By the way, while I was writing the post, I noticed that she was scratching this area somehow, not just scratching hard, but scratching a little.

How can I get leaner?

How can I get leaner? The thing is, I’m willing to do pretty much anything, but I don’t have the opportunity to go to the gym. What actually helped you? Please share your experience.
