Concerns with the longevity of Duskbloods
Duskbloods being a multiplayer exclusive on a new console most souls players aren't considering has me worried about its longevity, and I really wouldn't be surprised if a year (or sooner) down the line we start having issues with repetitive / hard to fill lobbies.
Especially after enduring nightreign on xbox with no crossplay - I'd be lying if I said I was confident in fromsofts matchmaking / multiplayer abilities
The lack of players in that game along with the generally large gap in skill - has made it pretty unplayable (as far as random matchmaking) . I should note this is mostly present in the xbox version - I assume pc has the healthiest player base + the qol mods have helped the longevity of that community (and idk how it's doing on playstation)
Furthermore, anyone who has played a fromsoft game at launch with multiplayer is also aware of how fast summons dwindle down to just a few hotspots, and what pvp and invasions look like just a couple months in -
(ex. can't find summon signs at majority of bosses in Elden ring anymore, vs. day 1 they were everywhere)
Nightrein is an incredible multiplayer offering that I thoroughly sunk my teeth into, got just as many hours in it as Elden ring (400+) - but its flaws and it being the *guinea pig* for this game make me cautiously optimistic for duskbloods lifespan , as well as previous fromsoft multiplayer experiences.
Existing fans did not own this console prior to release, however for nightreign you could just get it on whatever you (probably) played Elden ring on. I'm thankful Duskbloods is limited cooperation and more pvp focused than nightreign as that will lessen the impact and burden of less skillful players, but I'm also very worried as we are more than likely already starting off with a population situation similar or worse than nightreign on xbox.
Curious if others are feeling similar, or if I'm overthinking this?
Add END GAME option for host
between hunters leaving and maps bugging out the current situation of waiting out search timers to reset the lobby is insufferable
paint tool won’t stop after eye dropper selection!
Really frustrating, when selecting a new color with the eyedropper, the paint brush doesn’t stop unless you exit paint mode for a third time or click the mouse
literally went out and bought a new keyboard thinking that was the issue lmao
has anyone else experienced this issue? I’m playing through crossover, I’m trying to rule out external causes
Is official even an option for solo/duo?
It is so discouraging to play with 10-12 man groups on small / low pop servers - very clearly the people who couldn't hang with the big boys. For context, just set up in a cave with a 4x bunker, pretty hefty sulfur cost for raiding. Have a small external fob right outside
Part of a group flew over with a mini, set up a fully metal 2x2 raid base, and surrounded all sides of the cave with HQM tc's and turrets. like 12+. It's fourth day into wipe and they set up more resources outside than I have gathered in total. Should also point out I'm pretty much playing like a bot, haven't provoked anyone just farming in the middle of nowhere etc. etc.
I've already bunkered everything and right before it starts decaying im just gonna despawn it all lol, nothing will beat putting more time in + resource gathering in this game and I'd rather not give them the satisfaction of struggle
my question is where can you play as a duo where the field is a bit more even? The only modded server I tried was hollow 3x solo/duo , built in a cave and had success, but everyone was on top of each other / map felt a little crammed.
Having the odds stacked so high against you is a weird feeling in this game. Im not even upset, just because of how unfair it is lmao.
don't get me wrong either, I understand groups / clans is just the nature of the game and give credit where credit is due. I'd give kudos for a 4-5 man raid
I just wish they had just one official for small groups or something idk.
ideally I think I am looking for a modded server with group limits that sticks to vanilla (with the exception of 1.5-3x rates maybe), but I hate that a lot of them have kits on them / reset so frequently.
tldr: 12 man zerged solo/duo cave 4th day into wipe , wondering where the normal people play
how to safely gather resources alone
I don't see this really talked about a lot, curious if anyone has tips on how to consistently survive gathering runs when you're out alone. I'm playing on a low pop monthly that's very active, getting slammed every 2 or 3 runs I take to go farm, usually by a 2-3man roaming, occasionally a geared solo.
My solution has been building two shitshacks nearby to depot at, and running stuff back to my main at night - however I built in a cave and have ran into one or two people mining resources in there on my way back, so it hasn't been quite ideal :/
I think the move might be to setup permanent farming bases and to use vending machines to transfer the resources (?) I have a duo to help do so
