Payroll Associate Interview fresh grad (without exp & from different field)

Hi guys! as the title says, I got an upcoming interview for Payroll Associate. For my background: I'm an Information Technology graduate and I applied for this position just to try it. Luckily, they chose me for initial screening for the role. I just have questions how I can survive the screening.

  1. How can I sell myself for this role even though I am from different field?
  • I have basics knowledge in MS Excel and currently learning more about it. I also have exp in data entry or tracking of data during my internship (but not filtering it or making a pivot table or graphs or anything) I also have experience in MySQL during my college, so I know how simple querying works.

IT Helpdesk/Service Desk (fresh grad)

Hi guys! recent fresh grad in IT, and ang hirap makahanap ng entry level role sa field ko. May nakita ako na mga BPO company na nago offer ng IT Helpdesk role pero mostly exp need. I have experience naman in Ticketing system, Admin Directory, Remote/basic troubleshooting during my internship(3 months). Or I’ll try BPO companies na pwede mag transition from agent to IT dept. What companies po kaya nago offer ng pwede magtransfer from agent to other dept?

IT grad to BPO as first job.

Hi guys, I’ve been running out of options lately. And right now I’m considering doing BPO as my first job muna. My initial plan was to stay at BPO for at least a year or two, before seeking out for tech roles again. I am worried that employers will still not hire me for tech jobs, since I don’t have much related work exp and the work exp I got was from being a CSR only.

If i choose BPO as my first role then try to go back to my field, what are the disadvantages and how can I land a job related to my field?

Roast my resume (IT Fresh Grad)

Been applying for different IT roles such as: IT Support, Helpdesk, IT Staff, or any entry-level role. But still no luck on landing a job or didn't get noticed enough by employers, even though I got decent/short experience in it.

What should I do to be noticed more by employers?

Planning to attend a job fair

I’ve been planning to attend a job fair near our area, but I have a question about it. If I’m hired on the spot and I accepted it(even though I’m still unsure) would I still be able to back out to it after a few days of thinking if I really wanted the job?

Offer from a company

One of the company that I was applying for has called me and they say that they will hire me but there are conditions.

  1. My payroll and other employments processes will be handled by a third-party company (some kind of partnership with their company)
  2. I will report and work to the company that I applied while my payroll is handled by the third company.

Is this kind of situation normal in corporate world?
I got hesitant to accept it directly and I told them I would give my answer to them after a few days.

•What do you think about this offer? should I accept or pass?

•Do company really doesn’t disclose the offer if the applicant hasn’t signed yet?

Note: I couldn’t have the chance to ask them some questions on why is my offer like this, because I got overwhelmed that they are rushing me and endorse to start on Monday (even though I already told them that I currently reside at province) I also message the one who call me to provide me the full details of the offer, and hopefully they respond

Fresh Graduate Dilemma

Recently graduated last June, and I’ve already been applying for jobs (online) every day. But still no luck. I’ve already submitted 80+ applications to different companies but only got less than 5 responses (4 rejections & 1 interview). I know that it’s still early, but I want to find a job already.

Seeing other fresh graduates struggling to land a job due to the lack of experience required for the position made me think: Why do companies expect us to have experience in this and that when we are just fresh graduates?

And now I’m close on getting a job, but upon researching about the company, people claims that “Don’t work for this company or that company because it has a toxic work environment.” But as a fresh graduate, do we really have the choice of rejecting those opportunities? Given that there’s no certainty we’ll even get a response or an offer from another company?
