I recently went to a sprint car race at a small dirt oval race track. For those unaware, these local race tracks in the US tend to be rather primitive by modern standards--most of them don't offer online ticketing, and many still don't even take credit cards. But this one did, so i figured I'd take advantage and purchase a ticket ahead of time to skip the line.

When I got to the entry gate, the attendant informed me that online tickets need to wait in line at the ticket booth to have their QR codes scanned...behind all the people buying day-of tickets. Admittedly, the line moved reasonably quickly, but still...how hard is it to give the gate attendant a device or phone app to scan the codes herself?
