People who were old enough to remember early to mid 90's F1 or earlier. How did people react to Team Lotus leaving F1?
Team Lotus is one of my favorite old teams because they were so innovative. Perhaps the most innovative F1 team ever. Some of their cars are just awesome and I love driving them in simulators. It also doesn't hurt Mario Andretti (the GOAT of motor racing, no I will not take that back) got his WDC with them.
So that all being said, they were a very long running team who massively influenced F1. How did people react when they officially dissolved?
As someone from Michigan. Genuinely, I hate you right now.
Anyone know of a good Silverstone track (or mod to the original track?) that has the brake/distance markers? (200m, 100m, 50m)
They have them in real life. I don't know why AC doesn't have them.
Driving a lot of Formula 1 cars on Assetto Corsa has made me realize the CodeMasters F1 games have more realistic handling and physics than people give it credit.
I'm not saying the game is 100% realistic or that it isn't a sim-arcade mix, but I've played a lot of the F1 games, and later played a lot of Assetto Corsa where I mostly drive open-wheel cars. The way I've heard some people talk about the F1 games you would think that it's a full blown Forza Horizon-esque arcade game, but I would say the handling of the cars is more similar than they are different.
If anything, if I have a complaint against the F1 games it's that the cars spin far too easily with traction control off. It's much easier to drive the F1 cars without traction control on Assetto Corsa than the F1 games, on a wheel and on a controller (with dialed in settings). It actually surprised me how much more stable they are on AC.
I do remember a few years ago a F1 driver (can't remember who) said that the cars feel more similar to real life when driving on medium traction control in the F1 games, so I guess it shouldn't be that surprising.
Either way, my point is, I'm not saying the F1 games have to be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you only want the most realistic driving possible. However, I also think with some of the things I've heard over the years that some people shortchange the handling of the cars in the F1 games far too much.
(Spoilers) The Penguin had me going from rooting for Oswald to wanting me see Batman break his no kill rule.
Spoilers from here on out.
I was rooting for Penguin 98% of the show. Every time I may have questioned something, shit happened that made me root for him all over again. I think what held me in there the most was Vic.
Even in episode 7, when Oswald locked his brothers in the sewer. I knew immediately what was going to happen. Children have unfortunately died in very similar circumstances many times throughout history (that's why old school locking fridges were banned after 1956). Even in that moment, while I was saying, "No, no, no!" the entire time, I could rationalize that he was a kid, he didn't understand the full ramifications of his actions. I still don't think he meant to murder them, but at the same time he did nothing to try and save them as the night went on.
But no, the thing that completely sent me over the edge is him killing Vic. I dreaded it happening, but I think most of us saw it coming during that scene. What a fucking bastard. And to top it all off, Odepius Cobblecuck can't even let his mother die like he promised her. Instead he's effectively torturing her, having her locked away in an unfurnished room staring out a window. He has the gall to ask if she forgives him after she stabbed him in the gut and told him she hates him and that he's the devil.
Fuck I cannot wait for Batman to beat him to a pulp. I know it won't happen, but can he just break his no kill rule once and shoot him in the cock?
For those of you with 4K monitors/TVs on PC, do you guys play Assetto Corsa at 4K or 1080p?
The scaling seems to suck in Assetto Corsa at 4K. I've found the UI and apps scaler in content manager/CSP, however it still leaves things like the pit menu too small. I've just switched to playing in 1080p. What do you guys do?
Anyone else notice that video of Kimi Antonelli texting/using his phone while driving has been seemingly wiped from the internet?
I cannot find it ANYWHERE. I distinctly remember seeing the video, someone in another car (either that or on the side of the road, but I'm 90% sure they were in another car) recorded Kimi using his phone while in his car, then he turned, saw them, set his phone down and waved, and then drove away.
Anyone have this video? I am finding posts about it, but every post/tweet/tik tok video of it I can find has been totally wiped from the video.
It's pretty sad that I have to go to a third-party website to find out what times Formula 2 sessions are. It's like they don't want people watching.
Just as the title says. When you go to the Formula 2 website calendar they seems to think showing what the track looks like and results from the previous event is more important than actually telling people what time the events actually are on the calendar. Unlike Formula 1, where you click on the calendar and it actually gives you the damn session times.
Even Formula 3 actually shows the session times in the calendar, even if it isn't as pronounced as Formula 1.
