Later this year I'll be moving with 2 elderly, nervous indoor cats. Even the current short walk to the vets has them howling and shuddering. For the move I'll be traveling by taxi and then 1.5 hours by high-speed rail, only to put them into entirely new surroundings. They won't be happy.

I already know about all the prep, their smells, introducing them to the new space, etc. but I'm very worried about the travel.

What are some things i can do, supplements i could give, that would help them calm down even just a little. Obviously during the trip all my attention will be on them, but I'm honestly worried they'll stress themselves out too much.

I’m late in life going to become a first-time car owner and I have questions that I hope some of you might be able to answer.

I gather buying a car requires a two week lead-in? Is this also the case with 2nd hand cars bought from dealers? Are 2nd hand cars also delivered to your home like a new one? Or is it really just shoving a bunch of notes in someone’s hands and driving off there and then?

I gather you need a parking space before you can buy a car. I won’t be moving for another few months (but already own the new place) but I would like to have the car available on day 1 of the move. Can I buy a car for my new property and its parking space there while I’m still officially registered as living elsewhere? Would I need to prove ownership of the parking space somehow?

I’m planning to get a 2nd hand electric kei car (I don’t know car breeds or anything). I know about MOTs, a history of repairs, etc. But are there issues with diminishing battery life for 2nd hand electric cars?

Can I just plug the car in any outdoor socket to charge before I get a proper EV charger installed?

For people with experience, how do you feel about the battery life? Can I drive 2 hours out and 2 hours back without issue? Do I need to be charging everywhere I park? Like, how annoying is it? (Should I be looking for hybrid instead? Though I’d prefer to go full E)

I’m entirely ignorant about cars and don’t plan to immerse myself too much, because who has the time? But are EV kei cars generally idiot proof? 

Any information would greatly help de-befuddle me in this process I’m about to go through.
