How many pickups does a BASS need anyway?!

Hi!
I find I have a favourite Neck and I’ve just got a great body yesterday (the Bass’ not mine!) & every type of pickup possible lying around in drawers so I have all the things in place to make a perfectly good precision BUT apart from a traditional classic sounding middle pick up shall I put a Neck in and maybe a bridge one as well?

Am I just being spoiled?!

How many people have three pickups in a BASS and how many of you have two and feel that that’s not enough..?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Reckon it’s been about 18 months since I sold on eBay but I’ve been selling for the past 19 years and I just discovered there is now a set amount for shipping which might only just cover the actual cost of the Stamps!

As for the packaging, well, that’s FREE?! EBay’s Bizzarre Calculations only just cover the actual cost of shipping BUT the packaging, well, who pays for that?!

I just contacted Ebay via phone and had a surreal conversation with someone who said not to start a bidding at 0.99 anymore just whack on the shipping on top of that! But then what if someone comes to collect the item (which happens to me about a quarter of the time)? They’re paying the same as someone who just sat back on the sofa and waited for it to be delivered…

what happened with The Seller deciding what the bid starts at & what it’ll cost them in Packaging & then leaving people who don’t live locally to decide whether they wanna pay that extra?

After all, when you search for something on eBay, you can put the list in order of current bid AND shipping!

The guy on the phone insisted there was a standard price/weight/size/protection level for every item sold and I pointed out that if I was selling a radio that could be anything from the weight of a mobile phone to the weight of a pile of bricks, but he felt that was completely not the case and that one golf club would be just as costly to transport as a bag of golf clubs!!

He claimed that Ebay will always pay out any insurance for loss or damage but that surely can’t be true…IS IT? I told him if I wanted to sell the mobile phone I was speaking to him on I couldn’t just pop it in a used Jiffy bag; slap some tape around it and take it to the post office and he said “SURE!” & if it arrives damaged Ebay will make sure everyone’s covered🤔

Am I missing something here?

He told me if I had any problems why don’t I just message, via eBay, other people selling the same item and ask them if they trusted Ebay or how do they cope🤷‍♂️
