This is what I call bumble bee

The cowl isn’t painted yet. Can’t decide on silver, black or yellow. This was today’s project. I wanted to build something I haven’t seen before. So I took the idea of a parasol and added another wing. I designed the fuselage to be almost a wine bottle shape to try to reduce as much drag as possible. My wings are fastened together as once piece prior to mounting to the fuselage. I have metal tabs in the rudder to trim it. It’s a large control surface. So a little goes a long way. The plane is very stable. No tip stalls, The top wing incidence is higher than the bottom wing. I have thread for flying wires. The AOW is 26g. It’s by no means an endurance model, however, it brings some belly laughs when I fly it.

I built a 10” free flight dlg

Flying weight of 2 grams. The rudder is trimmed by sliding tissue paper between the vertical stabilizer and tail boom. (Launched right handed, circles clockwise) made from carbon fiber tow, carbon rods, fiberglass, dollar tree foam board, balsa and tissue paper. It’ll thermal pretty well on calm days. The airframe is next to indestructible. The plane is incredibly stable upon a stall, it’ll pancake with slight nose down until it has enough airspeed to continue flying. No wing rock, it very quickly self corrects after launch. Climbs fast, flattens out and circles upon launch. I oversanded the wingtips a bit, so they aren’t a smooth curve, but close enough so I can build another one and make it RC

Guillows A6M2 3ch rc conversion

Added a carbon fiber spar, slight modification to the airframe and a 9° dihedral with a 8520 motor and gearbox and the crossover RX “brick” flies on a 150mah 1s with about a 6 minute flight time and clear ultracote AOW of 1.3oz

Converted a free flight model to a 1ch rc plane

I’ve had this plane for years. I think I built it back in 2018. I got sick of changing out the rubber, so I put an electric motor and a micro RX in it. So now it’s free flight adjacent.

Building a dumas piper cub kit as a savage bobber 2ch rc plane

Almost finished with this project. Putting a 720 coreless motor and gearbox, a micro 2g standalone Rx and 1 1.8g linear servo for rudder. I put metal tabs into the elevator to fine tune the flight. I haven’t done tissue covering in a long time so im a little rusty at it.

I got my girlfriend into rc cars and this was her first kit. I think she did pretty good

If you ever wondered, you can put the trx 3.3 in the FW06. It does burn through tires fast.

Adjusted the transmission to shift about 2/3 through the rpm range. Top speed is about 50mph, stock gearing. Set up for drifting. The engine is the multi shaft recoil start version. Almost too much torque.

I found a metal decoration at hobby lobby and turned it into a shell for my 1/16 losi mini drag car

I had to strip off most of what was on the chassis like body mounts, wheelie bar, the little doohickies that hold the front bumper, body mount and shock tower together. It’s not finished, but I got the fit. I cut out the inside of the shell. I’m thinking about using magnets to hold the shell on. It’s a pretty heavy shell so I’m not going to go fast with it (has castle electronics and geared for about 65mph in a 1/10 quarter mile on 2s, tops out at 78mph on 3s in a 1/10 quarter mile) I’m going to have to find stiffer springs and what have you. I think it’ll turn heads at the next car show I go to. Fortunately the chassis isn’t modified aside from taking bits off. So it can easily be put back with the Chevelle body.
