This is a huge rambling post so feel free to ignore I’m just sharing my experience:

I remember back when this game first launched I absolutely hated Luna Snow. I hated how she could just dance and make everyone invincible then Loki would copy it and extend the fights even longer. It was exhausting to play against. And at the time we hadn’t quite figured out all the ways to kill her mid ult yet because the game was still new so it made it even stronger. And on top of it all I don’t have any interest in K-pop like the only time I remember it even exists is when I’m at a Korean BBQ place they play the music videos on the TVs there.

I would have to dive her and chase her around and track her ult cooldowns she was such an absolute menace in those early seasons.

So like with any character I have frustrations with, I did what any sane person would do: I went onto the main sub and made my entire personality based around hating on her and saying she’s fundamentally bad for the game and will kill Marvel Riva- …Just kidding lol, what I actually did was just tried playing her a bit. If you’re having trouble dealing with a character the best thing to do is try them out so you can see how it is from there perspective it makes counterplay a lot easier no matter who you main otherwise. But with Luna I found myself having so much unexpected fun with her it totally shifted my mindset on her and decided to play her more.

At first it was like oh okay learning the cooldowns, seeing what the abilities felt like blah blah blah but what stood out to me was her speed. Like holy shit she’s quick! Coming from playing tanks and dps it blew my mind people weren’t just using her like a backline flanker like Jeffs were doing at the time. So that’s what I did, I zipped around playing her like a DPS, killing other Lunas and freezing everyone with the snowball. Haha back then you even got proficiency for hitting people with snowballs 💅I did this so much (in Doom Matches as well) that I ended up Lording her. She’s just pure fun to play

I still have no interest in K-pop and her lore is like the least interesting of the roster but it’s also lighthearted so who cares? This whole multiverse stuff is just absurd in the first place so characters keep showing up randomly like they’re Pokémon and you just go with it. It’s not a big deal.

So anyway, Jeff got nerfed for exactly the same reasons of abusing the healer kit to play as a dive DPS and yet Luna was spared. The favoritism was obvious and people thought it was unfair but they all forget that Luna is the most dove character in the entire history of this game. It wasn’t until later on the general playerbase figured out Black Panther could just hard counter Jeff so basically everyone was diving Luna and her ult made her top priority. Even when Sue came out she had an incredible ult but was extremely difficult to dive so people would gun for Luna first if they were a duo. If you look at the current state of Cloak and Dagger it’s no wonder Luna got buffed too. It’s just Luna actually requires aim and attracts dps players so they leaned into that while CnD mains can follow us around for our ice lock teamup. That’s fine. Let them main heal while we go dive with White Fox and have fun.

Eventually Luna finally had her dance meta nerfed and got buffed to the moon for DPS gameplay. So I can see why people hate her even more now. She just keeps getting buffed and people keep freaking out over it but this is the same community that obsesses over win rates like they’re gospel and they’ll straight up ignore how she’s actually mid on the charts. The fact that you’re a K-pop star while all of this is going on just makes it so absurd that it’s funny to me. I don’t know why people are taking this game or its lore so seriously. Like even Marvel fans know how goofy and nonsensical comic books are.

This community is just overall insanely toxic. Other characters I play have all received bandwagon haters at some point or another. Psylocke is my most played hero and people who autistically catalog every skin release and its quality hate that the hot ninja lady gets cool skins? Lol. Black Panther is easily the most hated hero in the history of the game with people coming to that sub to post nsfw racist stuff in the past. Seen it with a bunch of others (there was one where they just post clips of Jeff’s dying) and now I’m seeing this weird Luna hate cult form where they have people drawing her get ripped in half by Moon Knight. Which tbf is something MK is definitely capable of doing and the artist that drew it obviously has talent but it’s just such a wild thing to use your skills for of all the possible fan art you could make for this game lmao 😭 Some of the posts are funny and lighthearted but some of them are like genuinely unhinged lmao

The creator seems to be handling it well and has a good sense of humor so all they’re doing is promoting his character for free and creating tons of eNgAgEmeNt which will only lead to more Luna content. Gonna be funny when she gets yet another new skin while the haters brood like that creepy weirdo from Perfect Blue

When White Fox was first released my initial reaction was “lol who?”

Lmao but forreal tho when I actually played her a bit as soon as I teleported with her I gasped. Like wow, they’re actually preparing us for Nightcrawler someday!

I grew up in the 90s and pretty much every kid at school absolutely loved this character. He was in video games we played and cartoons. But later on when the X2 movie opened with him the entire theater went nuts. Easily one of the coolest and most likable mutants so it’ll be interesting to see how this community deals with whatever they decide to do with his kit.

Please Guangguang give us the trench coat skin with optional hat / dagger idc if it’s legendary 🙏

Obviously he’d make a great DPS and I bet that’s what the devs will end up doing with him but deep down inside I am secretly hoping they’ll eventually make some kind of evasion brawl tank. The possibilities for his kit are really wild though and I’m sure they’ll do something crazy with him. And yes, he’ll be OP as heck on release. It’s gonna be epic.

What would your personal dream kit look like for him? Whatever they do seems like it will be a balancing nightmare but honestly I am so psyched when it comes to iconic characters like this that I grew up with it doesn’t really bother me. The new characters being strong seems fine since they’re generally the star of the season and its storyline. I just don’t see how a character that can teleport more than White Fox won’t be inherently game breaking until they eventually gut his cooldowns.

Black Panther is the one of the most hated characters in the history of this game. Everyone knows this.

People have been begging for him to be nerfed and saying he will be reworked every single patch ever since Season 2. Almost all of you posting weren't here before that. The few of you that were here since the beginning are simply happy that he isn't considered a throw pick by the entire community like how he was originally. It’s crazy how much has the perception of us has changed and how far we’ve come.

He might get massive changes. He might not get changed at all.

K, cool. Either way try to be as respectful as possible if you want to have discussions about this. Calling each other delusional or retarded because you disagree with them is lame as fuck. Low effort dookie posting will be deleted at our discretion. Most people here can tell when you're being funny or being a jerk for no good reason.

We constantly have people coming here to talk shit and be disruptive. But please keep in mind that there are also several other people who just see our threads pop up in their main feeds even if they haven't joined because the Rivals subreddits are all connected in that way. Use your best judgement when interacting with them.

Chances are there will be extensive tweaks to the overall game since the teamups they've added are massive. We're going to be flooded with more activity than usual because of everything happening in the game lately. No matter what happens there will be ppl that get upset. If you're a regular here be cool about it and make Bast proud.

Simply report toxic/racist posts and move on. It looks bad for us if I ban them but give you a free pass for mirroring their behavior and engaging in flamewars. Haters gonna hate. If you continue to have a problem with someone you can always challenge them to a 1v1 in the Clobber Club or better yet take it to Warrior Falls. As a mod I will be far more considerate to those that settle disputes this way. Post clips if you do. That's what we'd rather see here when things get tense between talking about the game we love.

Jubilee is the new hero this season. She has a teamup with Blade. We've had some time to adjust to the massive changes. Now it's time to hunt!

Post your best kills against either of those two vampires here (BOTH at the same time would be epic). Jubilee has massive AoE effects while Blade can straight up parry your spear. We're more interested in how you can shut down their big plays or handle fights against competent players moreso than simply diving in and ghostdashing a freekill against some clueless isolated healbot leaving spawn lol
