I’ve had LS confirmed by biopsy for at least 6 years. I delivered my babies over a year ago and breastfed for 9 months, I also had 3 or 4 laser treatments for my LS over this time. Before birth the laser treatments were helpful and I didn’t need the clob. However they didn’t work postpartum and I have noticed whitening of a large portion of my labia majora, which had no symptoms before, along with my perineal area. I was so busy with my babies it just snuck up on me. I had no other symptoms other than the lightning of skin.
I’m wondering how long should I be using my clob daily? I have no symptoms other than white patches. I’m almost through week 3. My provider told me 4 weeks but she didn’t seem to know much about the condition.
I am also wondering if others my age (31) have used Estrogen cream along with the clob, and was it helpful? My primary care prescribed to me when I was breastfeeding to help but the OBGYN I saw said it wouldn’t help.
Went to a new gynecologist due to spreading to new areas and needed a refill (insurance changed). She was a younger doctor probably my age. She asked why I was in, and I told her my LS was worsening. I could immediately tell she didn’t believe that I had it. She asked “why do you think you have that?” In a very annoying tone. I told her I had a biopsy over 5 years ago to confirm. That seemed to appease her enough to take a look.
She takes one look and knows I have it. I say something about how after I had a vaginal tear during delivery it my LS got worse in that area. She says “oh I don’t think that would cause that”. After forcing her to answer a couple of my questions as she was running out, she says “that’s so weird you’re so young to have that.”
I check on the prescription a few mins later after I left and notice she ordered the wrong prescription. Women’s health care is terrible.
My chihuahua mix showed a bump on his mid/low back when he was 8 months old. It would repeatedly get larger and smaller but looked about the same every time it enlarged. When the swelling goes down after a few days, it looks like a 1cm diameter hairless skin color patch. Enlarged it looks like a flesh color bump. I don’t think I would even notice if his coat was thicker.
He’s now 2y4m and it enlarged again. I have taken him to the vet 3 times about it over the past two years but they said it was nothing to worry about. This time when it enlarged I insisted on a fine needle aspiration. Results show mast cells. I’m wondering if this is not a mast cell tumor, what else could it be? He’s going to have it removed/biopsied ASAP.
I was diagnosed in 2020 but likely had it for 5 years before that. It was in a small area when I was diagnosed, probably a 1cm area near my clitoral hood that would get intensely itchy/hypo-pigmented. Over the years it has worsened, no doctors really told me how to apply cream, tapering protocols, etc until I joined a laser study about 4 years ago.
The laser helped immensely and I noticed lessening symptoms. However after giving birth to my twins via c section last May, I noticed I had a vaginal tear that had to be stitched up (i had a postpartum hemorrhage during my c section which resulted in the tear from manual extraction). My LS worsened postpartum especially in perineal area either due to the tear or hormonal changes from breastfeeding. The laser treatments postpartum didn’t help like they did before pregnancy. I stopped breastfeeding 5 months ago and got my period back almost immediately, but my LS had started to show in new areas (between labia majora).
Has anyone else experienced flares here? I have to admit with having two babies I haven’t been the best about applying my ointment but have noticed whitening very quickly in this area, within the past two months. Much larger than any area I’ve had before. I am now applying daily (on day 4).
I am going to see a doctor but my insurance just changed this month and haven’t been able to find a new doctor yet. Any advice is appreciated!
