New Line Corvette/Frigate Turrets

Medium Concussion Missle Launchers Turret (l.); Light Ion Cannon Turret (m.): Light Turbolaser Turret (r.)

There is also a new triple heavy laser cannon turret on the same base, but I forgot to shoot it.

___

Ideal for light ships and ground installations, these turrets can be crewed by 1-4 people or be fully automated/remote controlled from conning station.

___

Medium Concussion Missles are a bridge between the close defense concussion missles (anti-fighter) and the larger assault missles (anti-ship). This effectively gave the missle long range, mediocre maneuverability and a good payload.

Finally we'll learn more!!!

Finally we may get to know what this beauty is capable of.

It better be good or there will be blood.

Bestest Corvette

I'm calling you out u/ASW-G-2!

The Marauder-Class Assault Corvette is the best corvette, due to its strong weaponry and hangar.

Unfortunately, as can be expected with a corvette, its range is a bit limited.

Actual Best Frigates

The Alliance's Assualt Frigates are the best multi-role line frigates we know of.

Excellent size, prize and equipment.

The Mk. 1 is a modified Dreadnought Cruiser and, in most of its inceptions, amazing at making use of this outdated chassis and putting it back into the field.

The Mk. 2 is a whole different ship all together and combines all the aspects a versatile main combatant needs.

Argue if you want. You're wrong! (-:

Crew: 6.000

___

Roles: Cruiser; Frigate

Affiliations: Senatorial Security Flotilla; Judiciary Forces; Grand Army of the Republic

___

The Brutus-Class was a type of Cruiser developed and built for the Republic. She saw deployment in Peacekeeping Missions, led Anti-Piracy and Slaver missions. The innovative layered shield systems allowed the ship to remain a relevant combatant well into the Clone Wars. Updated ships would, in individual cases, continue service into the Galactic Civil War.

The description "Linefrigate" was meant to obfuscate the ship's true capabilities and relax more zealous anti-militarists in the senate and the companies' leaderships.

Most of the hull is covered in braced stamp coverings, making the ship appear more flush. Hidden below is an unseemly assembly of armored plates, unprotected compartments and free running, redundant systems. The covering helped against the common missle cruisers of the time.

The two massive engines pushed the Brutus to highly respectable sub-light speeds but were not future proof. By the Clone Wars, she was outclassed by most of her peers.

Production lasted 15 years.

___

I hope you like the ship, let me know if there is more you want to know. Have a good time (-:

Republic Compact Medium Turbolaser Turret [OC]

A protected turret with simple gunnery sensors to find its own targets. Run by a crew of at least 10 men, officers and gunners, the turret is not fully automated, in part due to age but also to be more resilient against ion strikes.

Gun Blister Design 2 [OC]

This Gun Blister Design Utilizes one of my favorite modules I have made, the Quad Turbolaser.

Intended to be placed on the sloped armored flanks of Dreadnought-Cruiser-inspired ships, this blister design offers front and rear coverage and above all a powerfull broadside.

This Blister would require a seperate or extra gunnery or conning station to work as it lacks sensor equipment on its own.

u/SeBoss2106 — 22 days ago

Gun Blister Design 1 [OC]

An original design for a weapon station including a dual heavy turbolaser turret and a twin heavy laser cannon.

The design offers good firing arcs. but is not as flushed as it could be. I instead uses sharp lines to minimize target area.

Loosely inspired by the turrets on german dreadnoughts and battlecruisers.

ORF-95 [OC]

Length: 12.1m

With: 14.8m

Height: 2m (2.8m parked)

___

Year of Introduction: Between Naboo and Geonosis

Producer: Incom; WMR; Hoersch-Kessel; SoroSuub; SubPro

Type: Light Multi-Role Snub-Fighter

Price: 60.000 - 85.000

___

Hyperdrive: N/A

Shields: N/A; Deflectors (Depending on Manufacturer)

Weapons:

- 2 Heavy Laser Cannons

- 1 Launcher (10.5cm CIP Projector)

Crew: 1

___

Affiliations: Outer-Rim Defense Force Association; GAR; Pirates; Seperatist Alliance; Syndicates; Rebel Alliance

___

The Outer-Rim Defense Association, a coalition of wealthier independent Outer-Rim Worlds, mostly in the galactic south and south-east, was formed following the release of Nute Gunray from Republic Custody under the fear of being subjected to similar pressure as Naboo and other systems threatened by the Banking Clan and the Techno Union. Sharp increases of pirate and raider activity also played a role.

ORDA wanted a fleet of frigates, light cruisers and light carriers. The question of a fighter was raised.

The market offered much, but barely anything to fill all demands for a nimble, fast and well armed snub-fighter.

Under initiative of INCOM Corporation, a coalition was formed. This was a pure risk spread and cost saving measure, as it wasn't certain if the ORDA would last.

Incom and SubPro brought their sucessful Z-95 "Headhunter" design, Hoersch-Kessel brought cost saving experience and energy infrastructure, WMR engine and laser cannons and SoroSuub added a revolutionary munitions launcher and the internal equipment.

A few licensing debacles later, the ORF-95 was presented and accepted into service. It also made its way into private forces and upcoming defense forces. It was even well recieved as a sport and training fighter in the core regions.

The ORF-95 offers incredible maneuverability, heavy punch and good speed. It's a bit let down in terms of structural stability, strategic mobility and tactical endurance. A skilled pilot could keep this vehicle capable against TIE-Fighters, but would be wasted on it if newer fighters were available.

Being a pre-war design and being mostly built before war time standards, the ORF-95 still exhibits high quality construction.

___

Look there! Another Z-95!

This is probably the most proud I have ever been of one of my fighter designs. I hope you like it.

Avia-Class Star Schooner [OC]

Lenth: 190m

With: 63m

Height: 36m

Type: Armed Transport

Price: 800.000

___

Hyperdrive: Class 2; Class 12

Shields: equipped

Weapons:

- 4 Dual Heavy Laser Cannons

___

Roles: Armed Transport; Patrol Boat

Affiliations: free availability

___

The Ship, that made WMR break even.

The need for rapid transport of goods has been universal and everlasting throughout galactic hisrory and mobilizing trade has been the corner stone of most ship-building,

The Avia-Class has been designed by the owner of WMR with the specific goals of being protected, fast, corvette sized and low in crew requirements, And having massive stowage areas. Most of the Ship is set up to store bulk cargo, univerdal chests and containers and the equipment to load and unload it.

Heavy engines bring the ship out of even the heaviest atmospheres and the most intense habitable gravitational pulls. A decent sensor and communication suite and weapons influenced by the Stark-Hyperspace War round out the capabilities of this design.

By 35BBY, the Avia was being produced by almost 200 Space Yards and sold off to almost every customer,

How to best refill beer?

Hello,

I have a music festival coming up in August and I want to bring some beer for my crew and I.

Unfortunately, my two favorite beers only come in glass bottles, which are not allowed.

What I would like to know, and try if there is a way, is how I can repackage the bottled beers into other contianers (plastic bottles, cannisters etc.) without them going stale/bland/bad immediately and keep fine enough for a day or two on camp grounds.

Any help?

P.S: the beers are the Kilkenny Red Ale and Bayreuther Aktien Zwick'l, if it helps

Multi-Combat-Fighter 800 [OC]

Lenth:

Year of Introduction: 33BBY

Producer: WMR

Type: Space Superiority Fighter

Price: 88.000 Credits

___

Hyperdrive: Class 1

Shields: equipped

Weapons:

___

The Multi-Combat Fighter 800, endearingly called MulCo, was introduced at a time, when a lot of sovereingty movements popped up in the Colony Worlds and the Outer Rim.

It was supposed to offer a solid basis for PD Forces and other young defense institutions. A special deal structure was offered, giving 36 Star Fighters, a License to produce the Star Fighter indiginously, an assembly line, and a parts support contract. This scheme helped WMR expand into the Outer Rim massively and obtain dozens of small yard stations and thousands of acres of real estate.

Sanewashing the Hammerhead

A lot of times there is no real point in asking, why things are the way they are in the Star Wars Galaxy.

But that doesn't take away from the fun of coming up with in-universe answers!

So today I'd like to talk about possible explanations for the striking, dare I say iconic, building practice called "Hammerhead".

___

To immediately put my cards on the table, I believe the Hammerhead (read as the building practice, not the Ship Class), is an economic and utilitarian decision.

One of the things noticeable with hammerheaded ships is, that they are relatively short and slim. That is possible thanks to putting the bulk needed for weapon subsystems, shields and the like, in the head-shaped bow of the ship, a point we will revisit later.

Such configuration is allowing for example to put things like hangars on a relatively small frame, tucked in safely behind the head.

Slimmer construction is also understood to generally save construction costs, by using less material and it is also most likely lighter than burlier constructions, improving performance and maneuverability, especially with the comparatively large engiens often found on hammerheads.

Smaller ships also are much easier and affordable to build and can be built in many more yards than larger cruisers of similar capabilities.

Next of course, there is the opportunity cost associated with crews. People cost money, food and space. A crew of 80(300) can survive longer on a thousand metric tons of consumeables, than a crew of 16.000 (3.000), boosting operational range, endurance and of course supply efficiency.

___

We have laid out that one might want an affordable, low crew requirement, fast and well armed ship. How does one achive such a ship then?

If we compare hammerheaded ships to other ships their size, we often find a gap in capabilities, usually in favor of the Hammerhead.

The reason for that, I believe, is the "citadel", located in the head.

Citadels in naval construction represent/represented the most protected and critical areas of a ship. It is where ammunition is stored, where the internal engiens lie and where the command of the ship is situated.

For the Hammerhead, we put all our proverbial eggs into one basket. The head.

There is an astute interest in Star Wars for fighting head on, as one can presents a much smaller target that way. Armor and shields, as well as weapons can therefore be concentrated very effectively in the bow of the ship, as the rest of the body doesn't need as much armored plating or all around shielding (though the question as to how shields work is a completely different discussion).

___

Through the power of concentrating the things that make ships bulky, heavy and expensive in a slim citadel structure in the direction of fire we end up with much more smaller and lighter and thus affordable ships that can comfortably punch up.

___

Thank you u/Ahriman-119 for the blue hammerheads.

STS-5 "Thunderspike" [OC]

Length: 12.3m

With: 7.3m

Height: 3.7m

___

Year of Introduction: 26BBY

Producer: WMR

Type: Space Superiority Fighter

Price: 186.000 Credits

___

Hyperdrive: Class 2

Shielding: Light Vessle Deflectors

Armaments:

- 4 Laser Cannons

- 2 Concussion Missle Launchers

Crew: 1

___

Roles: Space Superiority, Long Patrols, Anti Piracy

Affiliations: Ducal Star Fighter Corps; Confederacy of Independent Systems; Neutral System Alliance

___

The STS-5 (Star Superiority Fighter) was introduced to markets after a long series of pre-production runs and development pauses.

Development began during the Stark Hyperspace War, which has led to intense Bacta shortages on Lavoo. The end of the war meant withdrawn funds from the Ducal Navy, forcing financing by outside investors.

A year before, the Delta A-7 "Aetherspike" by Kuat made its public debut. When WMR presented their new, heavier fighter during the year's Anaxes Defense Show, the press was quick to dub it "Thunderspike".

The Thunderspike is fast, heavily armed and was advanced for its time, with an integrated hyperdrive.

It was larger than many concurrent star fighters and not as maneuverable as the style of the time dictated, but it proved itself survivable thanks to the shields and the adoption of new tactics.

Later models would improve shields, sensors and engien performance and a strike craft variant was also released during the war.

After the war, most of the produced fighters were sold off by the occupied Lavoo government, to fund the reparations owed to the Empire, spreading the Thunderspike across the Galaxy.

___

I hope you like it! I went from a nose mounted armament through roughly 6 redesigns, before arriving at this result. I must say, I am very happy.

THEEE BEST Cruiser. Maybe. The Munifex Light Cruiser

It is old, it is cold, it is gold.

Pretty well armed light cruiser that is cheap, capable and a staple of the Outer Rim.

A hangar, a company worth of soldiers...what more could you want? Except maybe some laser cannons.

Screenshot from Fall of the Republic Mod for Empire at War, because there is basically no art of it.

[OC] CF-33 "Duty"-Class

Length: 333m

With: 64m

Height: 63m

___

Year of introduction: 20BBY

Producer: CEC

Type: Frigate

Price: 5.500.000 Credits

___

Hyperdrive: 1

Backup: 10

Shielding: Light Frigate Shieding

Armaments:

- 8 Quad Medium Turbolasers

- 4 Medium Ion Cannons

- 10 Dual Heavy Laser Cannons

- 2 Proton Torpedo Launchers (6 Shot Each)

- 1 Tractor Beam

Crew: 200

___

Roles: Cruising, Fleet Action, Screening

Affiliations: Rebel Alliance; Sector Forces; Corellian Forces; New Republic

___

Born from the same project that developed the famous DP-20 Gunboat, the Corellian Frigate-33 was a heavily armed screen leader.

It's protection was not something to write home about.

But it's firepower was unrivaled in it's weight class. One of its biggest hamstrings was the relatively short range, with only 6 Months' worth of consumeables. This came from the assumption of being the Republic Navy's rear security.

___

And the last one for today! I hope you like it, let me know what you think!

[OC] SFC-600 Mastiff - WMR

Length: 12m

With: 7.60m

Height: 2.4m (2.90m with gear)

___

Year of introduction: 2ABY

Producer: WMR

Type: Interceptor, Star Superiority Fighter

Price: 125.000 Credits

___

Hyperdrive: 1

Backup: NA

Shielding: 60 SBD

Armaments:

- 2 Heavy Lasercannons

- 2 Anti-Fighter Ion Cnnons

Crew: 1

___

Roles: (Bomber-) Interceptor, Star Superiority Fighter

Affiliations: Lavoo Revolutionary Navy; PFD/Sector Fleets; Rebel Alliance

___

The SFC-600 was a star fighter built by WMR in the hot phase of the Galactic Civil War.

Unlike most producers of the time, WMR hadn't invested strongly in fighterborne ordinance. The space in the hull was taken up by redundancy systems and stronger shields. The Ion Cannons made it highly competitive anyway in the fighter jousts.

The Mastiff traced its lineage to developments from the Clone Wars and experiences made from production performed under imperial occupation.

___

Probably my favorite fighter I made. Smooth curves, a new Cockpit approach...the wings are inspired by the TIE-Phantom and the corpus by the Z-95.

I hope y'all like it!

___

The Corellian-General-Cruiser-1 was the starting shot for a new wave of capital ship designs by CEC. Based on experiences gained with the model and the chassis, many improved and new ships would follow.

A clear clash between old systems and future visions, it was overtaken soon by other developments, but the foundations the General Cruiser laid, can't be denied.
