Maintenance question

Hi everyone, I own a 2023 Mazda CX-9 (purchased new, Touring Plus, Crystal Blue Mica) that I had to buy in a hurry as I was changing jobs and losing company car privileges. With about 30K on the odometer, it's been a great car so far and there's not much I don't like about it.

I have a benefit through my current job that pays for oil changes every 5K miles, and brakes and tires as needed as long as I go to an affiliated chain place like Goodyear, NTB, Firestone, Valvoline Instant Oil Change, etc.). All other general maintenance is up to me to take care of.

My question,... Besides the "regular" maintenance items like wipers, engine and cabin air filters, etc., what are the most important "other" items that should be on my radar for service? I'm thinking things like coolant flush and refill, brake fluid replacement, transmission/differential service (this is my first AWD vehicle), and so on.

I'd appreciate any insight from first hand experience. Thank you.

Mods for breathing and cooling

Hi everyone, i will be in the market for a Nissan Z later this year or early next (Performance, auto) just weighing color options, new/slightly used, etc.

I've never been a huge modder of my cars, but anything that helps a car breathe better and/or cool better without requiring a tune makes sense to me.

For tasteful mods (but primarily stock) would a Nismo cold air intake, down pipe (lower), and upgraded heat exchanger be a good combination and yield some benefits beyond stock? If any of those modifications would affect the warranty, I'd probably just leave it stock.

Timing Belt Replacement?

Hello, I own a 2017 S60 Inscription with 62,xxx miles on it (yes I know it was built in China). Purchased as a dealer CPO car in 2018 with 5K miles on it. The car has been well maintained between 2 different Volvo dealerships and an independent Euro shop. The only issue it has had besides normal maintenance is that some of the lane departure and other sensors had to be replaced, which was covered under the CPO warranty with a few weeks to spare (would have been a $1,700 repair otherwise).

At its last oil change, which I have done every 5K miles, the dealership noted that the timing belt was showing some signs of wear with minor cracking, etc., and recommended I have it replaced. I'll have it checked out at the independent shop in the next few months as I know the recommendation for timing belt replacement is generally 10 years or 100K miles.

My question, has anyone here gone way past either the time or mileage threshold for timing belt replacement? I'll begin budgeting for it now, but was curious as to how urgent the situation may be. I'd appreciate any insight or first hand experience. Thank you.

Click track?

Not wanting to debate the merits or lack thereof, but they almost certainly have to be playing with a click, right? Just thinking about the very precisely timed pyro and other effect elements.

A couple pics of my hybrid living room and home theater space.

Room is approximately 19ft long and 12ft wide with an 11 ft vaulted ceiling. 5.2 system. Current gear consists of:

AVR - new Onkyo RZ70 (still dialing it in and figuring out how everything works)

Amp for LCR - Aragon 8008x3 (200w/ch)

Speakers (L and R) - Focal Aria 926

Speakers (Center and surround) - Tannoy Eyris

Subwoofer - dual Rythmik 12 inch servo subs

TV - Sony XBR 65x930e

Recent improvements include replacing the Tannoy L and R speakers with the Focals and replacing a 9 year old Marantz SR5012 receiver with the Onkyo. It's coming along nicely. A 75-77 inch TV and a better center channel speaker are likely my next upgrades.

I am in the process of getting my new RZ70 installed and properly set-up. I like it so far, but having a Marantz for the last 10 years, there is a learning curve I am still trying to figure out on a few things.

For Dirac Live, the calibrations with the supplied microphone and the Onkyo app went smoothly enough, but I also want to run it with a miniDSP UMIK mic. I know that involves opening a Dirac account, installing software on my laptop, etc., but it keeps asking me to activate the license, and I don't have a license number (or at least I don't know where to find one) since it is included with the receiver. I'm a bit stuck at the moment. I'll have some more time to troubleshoot it and think through it in the next few days, but if anyone has any advice in the meantime to get me past this stage, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I just pulled the trigger on a new RZ70 to replace a 9 year old Marantz SR5012. Purchased new from Adorama for $1,500 with a coupon code. Currently running a 5.2 system with an Aragon 3 channel amp (200W/ch) handling the duties for the LCR channels. I may add 2 front height channels once I get the Onkyo fully integrated, but it may be a while (or never) before I go full Atmos mode.

Assuming the amp section of the Onkyo won't be super stressed running only 2 or 4 channels for now. Does anyone run an Aircom cooling fan (or similar) on theirs, or do you think it will be ok without any extra ventilation?

Any other watch outs for a new to Onkyo and Dirac person?

It should arrive later this week and I am excited to get this up and running! Thank you.

Current set up as an FYI:

LR = Focal Aria towers

C = Tannoy Eyris

Surrounds = Tannoy Eyris

Subwoofer = Rythmik 12 inch servo subs × 2

Aragon 8008 3 channel amp (200W/ch) powering the LCR channels

65 inch Sony Bravia XBR LED TV (don't remember the model number)

Main listening area is a 16'x20' room with 10ft ceiling

Zone 2 living room = 2 Fostex in-walls

Zone 2 back patio = JBL Control 5

Zone 2 power by Fosi Audio monoblocks
