Countersinks, recommendation and usage

Countersinks, recommendation and usage

I’m looking at two types of countersinks. This first type doesn’t have a drill bit and the kinds that incorporate the drill bit.
Which set is better?

If I were to use this style (pictured), would I drill a hole first and then countersink or vice versa?

Sore finger joints from climbing

I’ve been having sore finger joints and constantly. I feel soreness even when I haven’t climbed in a few days. When I’m at home and try to open a tight jar lid it kind of is sore and hurts a bit. However, when I’m climbing a problem, I don’t really feel it.
Is this typical. What am I experiencing? Is it just that I’m old? I don’t think I have an injury. It’s not super painful. I’ve done some research online and I don’t think I have a pulley injury. I’m going to tape it and see if that helps reduce the pain.

Any advice on how to treat it, heal it, etc. ?

I also want it add that I’m a long time volleyball player with some swollen knuckles and fingers that have been knocked about.
But I’ve never felt this consistent soreness. I’m an on and off climber. Recently I’ve been climbing more consistently.

Soy Milk with Red Tea

I went to a steamed bun stand close to Taipei Main Station. (Across the street in the vicinity of Fuzhou Pepper buns)
I had one of those drinks with the smiley face in them. One of them was soy milk with red tea.
Anyone know either (1) how to make it (2) where to get it outside of Taiwan.

I’m assuming you just use soy milk and tea, but what is the tea that is used?

SRM Palfrey out of the box - tight action

I just got my Palfrey today. Looks beautiful. However, I can’t flip it open with one hand. It’s pretty tight. I need to use to hands.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I suppose to loosen the screw a tiny bit?

Heel fit with aggressive shoe

I’m wearing Skarmas. I find that when I’m standing on the ground my heel is in the heel cup (bc the shoe is flat. But when I start climbing the heel is not as snug because of the aggressive shape. Is this typical ? Or should I have gotten a smaller size?

Also with most aggressive shoes I feel the shoe cut into my Achilles. Is this also typical?

Socks for better fit

I have a pair of Skwama’s.
It fits pretty well. I’m usually a US 8 for normal shoes. I’m using a 39.5 for the Skwamas.
The shoe fits pretty nicely. I feel like I have a little space in the heel. Socks seem to help fill that gap.
What are people’s opinions for wear socks to help with better fit.
No socks is a little more comfortable. However better fit with socks.

Raccoons - should rabies or disease be a concern?

I see many videos and posts of people feeding raccoons or treating them like pets.
Should they be concerned with potential disease and such?
I’ve read that raccoon poop can contain a certain roundworm that can potentially be life threatening.
Just asking because I’m curious and also I’m concerned for people’s safety.

Pheromones - attracts or deters ?

The Wildlife removal guys told me that if there are babies (and the mom) in our attic he can put male pheromones in the attic to drive them out.
Will that drive out the female (and babies)?
Will that also attract other male raccoons?

Handling traps

The wildlife removal person gave me some instructions for the trap. If I trap non-Raccoons I need to release them.

When I reset the trap or bait the trap should I wear gloves so that human scents won’t be on the trap. Does that matter? Will a raccoon stay away bc of human scents in the trap?

Raccoon behavior fact or fiction

I had a “wildlife removal” company come to my house bc a raccoon got into my attic.
He told me that raccoons have really good memories and will want to come back to the same place if it likes it. He also said that this preference will also be passed down to the offsprings and so on.
He says that we need to trap and then relocate.
Is this true or was he trying to sell me his trapping services?

Raccoon climbed into the attic from crawlspace

About five days ago we heard activity in our attic around midnight. Something was walking around and scratching a little.
The next morning we saw one of the crawlspace vent covers popped out. It is the only one that’s removable.
Later around evening time we heard some activity in the crawlspace so I put a camera right outside the opening.
We happen to see the raccoon peeking out of the opening. I banged in the floor to scare it so that it would leave. Eventually it left on Its own accord and I hurried over to the opening to cover it up. We put a bunch of cinder blocks and sandbags in front of it too so no critter can get at the opening and pry open the crawlspace cover.
We thought we had gotten rid if the one raccoon.
However tonight we heard more activity in the attic. I must have trapped another one (maybe a nesting female?) up there.
I unfortified the crawlspace opening and left it slightly ajar hoping that it would find its way back down. Needless to say it hasn’t happened.
I was tapping my ceiling and making lots of noise hoping to encourage it to move but it’s settled.
I hear it at the front of the house and sometimes at the back.
What can I do? I have a light in the attic but I’m afraid to go up to turn it on. (I heard that they don’t like lights where they are nesting)
