[Alpinist] what is the verdict on strap?

Never liked the original strap that came with my JDM alpinist GMT. Have been trying different stuff. How about this one? Does it make it look cheaper? Or more fun?

First time with the Cricket

Recently picked up this beauty and put it on a burgundy lizard strap. Initially I loved it for the great party trick of cricket like mechanical alarm but I really loved the elegance, simplicity of design and great sizing of this vintage piece.

Tudor Oysterdate 7992/0 from 1968

I got this recently and already became my favorite. 34.5mm oyster case size is very comfy. Rolex signed on crown and caseback. Although has the serial no and model no on the case matching the Eta based Tudor caliber, I still had some doubts about authenticity as I had not seen this dial on oysterdate before. A watchmaker authenticated ( as well as Claude and Gemini :) as genuine so very happy with that. Has anyone come across this dial in vintage tudor or rolex oysterdates from 60s/70s or is it really rare?

[Omega] Vintage Geneve with redial

It is a redial while all except dial (and strap off course) is not original. Dial has been repainted and stamped. Tiffany apparently had signed Omega at some point but not this model of Geneve. Still I enjoy it as a fun piece. I bought it knowing that it is redial yet I see major push back on redials. What are thoughts on that? Is it a big horological sin?

Happy Sunday btw

From top left

  1. GoldFeather 1960

  2. Crown Special 1963

  3. Business-A 1967

  4. KingSeiko 1972

  5. LordMatic Gold JNR Special 1971

  6. LordMatic Blue Linen 1971

  7. Lordmatic Special 1972

  8. Seiko "Swiss" 5328 1985

  9. Seiko 5 2002

  10. Presage Matcha 2020 (limited)

11.Seiko 5 Sports 2023

  1. GS Shunbun 2025

  2. Pink Panther (limited) 2026

As I put them in chronological order, realized that I have almost nothing from 80s and 90s. Then found out that Seiko had actually stopped mechanical watch manufacturing and entirely focused on quartz from 1980 onward until late 90s - except for few in between. This might also explain the mysterious Seiko i have in collection with a Swiss mechanism (5328).

Excluded here is my Alpinist green GMT Jdm and Seiko ANA special which I believe are deviations from the core grammar of Design to create their unique design language.

I have seen that tariffs dropped from 39% to 15% recently for Swiss watches but also have seen comments from 2 months ago that occasionally this was not the case. Any recent experiences?

Also does the seller still need to include the breakdown of the price by movement, case and strap? How does that affect the duty fee.

Thanks for guidance.
