Built a site for finding solid work/study spots in Chicago, would love feedback

I work remote a good amount and got tired of the gamble every time I try a new cafe: is there an outlet free, is the wifi actually fast enough, will I get the stink eye after two hours. So I built WindyDesk, a small site where people rate spots on outlets, wifi, noise, seating, and food, kind of like Beli but for work spots instead of restaurants.

I have 40+ spots right now and it's Chicago-only and a one-person side project, so I'd love for people in this sub to add their go-to work spots or rate ones already up there. Any bugs or feedback also welcome.

Built a site for finding solid work spots in Streeterville, would love feedback

Hello neighbors (I live on McClurg!), I work remote a good amount and got tired of the gamble every time I try a new cafe: is there an outlet free, is the wifi actually fast enough, will I get the stink eye after two hours. So I built WindyDesk, a small site where people rate spots on outlets, wifi, noise, seating, and food, kind of like Beli but for work spots instead of restaurants.

Only have 4 spots rated so far in Streeterville (but plenty of others in other neighborhoods), so it's pretty bare right now. Chicago-only and a one-person side project, so I'd love for people in this sub to add their go-to work spots or rate ones already up there. Any bugs or feedback also welcome.

Made a site to find good study spots around Chicago (outlets, wifi, noise levels, etc.)

Anyone else sick of showing up to a coffee shop to study and finding zero outlets or wifi that keeps dropping? Made WindyDesk to solve this, rates Chicago cafes on outlets, wifi, noise, seating, and food, specifically for people trying to actually get work done (studying, group projects, whatever).

windydesk.com

Free to browse, no account needed. Figured this sub might have some go-to spots near Lincoln Park/Loop campus that deserve to be on there — would love if you added them.

Made a site to find good WFH/coffee shop spots in Chicago — sharing in case it's useful

Anyone else doing the remote/hybrid job search grind and constantly hunting for a spot with actual outlets and decent wifi? Got tired of guessing from Yelp reviews that only talk about the food, so I built WindyDesk — rates Chicago cafes on outlets, wifi, noise, seating, and food specifically for people trying to get work done (job hunting, interviews, actual work, whatever).

Free to browse, no login needed. If you've got a go-to spot that's clutch for grinding through applications, would love if you added it.

Made a site to find good work spots in Wicker Park (looking for feedback)

Hey neighbors, I've been working remote a lot and got tired of guessing which cafes actually have outlets, decent wifi, and won't kick you out after an hour. So I built a small site called WindyDesk where people can rate spots on outlets, wifi, noise, seating, and food, kind of like Beli but for finding a place to work.

It's Chicago-only right now and pretty bare bones (I'm one person building this on the side), but I'd love for people in this neighborhood to check it out and add a review or two of their go-to spots. Any feedback, bugs, or "this is missing X" comments are welcome too.

Pigs Get Fat, Hogs Get Slaughtered?

Hello! Currently at J1 for the last 2 years as a Senior Data Engineer. I also have a J2 which is contract work and my hours just got cut (30/hrs a week to 10/hrs a week). I'm interviewing for a possible J3 as a Data Analyst at a different industry. Pay breakdowns:

J1: 170k

J2: ~62k

J3 possible salary: 140k

My issue is that I actually might get promoted in August to a Principal Data Engineer (my boss at J1 and I are on great terms and he told me this directly), which is probably another 10k raise to be at 180k. HOWEVER This promotion will also have me move teams which means new boss that I don't know much about!!! This scares me.

Do I just ignore J3 for now since I have a decent J2, a promotion coming up and a new boss? Or just take the promotion and J3 and figure it out as I go? Any advice is appreciated!
