Got a mint condition vintage Moeck Rottenburgh tenor (maple)

Completely smitten with it. The tone is so clear and full, and it really sings so easily. The previous owner barely played it after buying it 50 years ago, and took excellent care of it.

Graupner Chalumeau trio arr. for 3 saxophones

Saxophone is not my primary, but after hearing this beautiful baroque trio (called "La Speranza" by Christoph Graupner) in this video about the Chalumeau, I had to arrange it for saxophones. If anyone wants the arrangement (I'm sure you can play it better than me), it is up on IMSLP now!

My early eastman MD-815V

Just an appreciation post for my mandolin that I think punches well above its weight. I think that in these earlier (circa 2011 to 2012) runs for their higher end models, eastman was making instruments with a lot more character than their current 815s. The stain and varnish, the lack of faux antiquing, the wood selection, and most importantly the sound and comfort of this instrument feels to me like instruments I've played that are 4x the price I got this one for.

Double checking my cleaning sequence before I proceed:

There's so much conflicting information on here about the cleaning + rinse process. I've seen Alex's videos, but I also want to keep costs reasonable (and not buy more than one L&R gallon bc sheesh... This is the basic outline of what I am planning on currently, and I'm open to any advice in case anything here seems like a mistake:

I have a small ultrasonic glasses cleaner (48kHz) and all the requisite glass jars and mesh containers.

-Clean with L&R #111 in ultrasonic cleaner

-rinse #1 with 99.9% IPA

-rinse #2 with 99.9% IPA

My questions: at what stage should I pegwood clean? Before or after the above sequence? and; can I put the shellac parts in the L&R #111, and "rinse" them just using foam cleaning swabs soaked in IPA (rather than immersing the shellac parts in IPA in the ultrasonic cleaner)?

Thanks guys <3

(this is for some 1930s era wristwatch movements I have)

This little beauty looks insane on the timegrapher, and frequently stopped while I had it open to realign the handset, yet when I assembled it again and wore it for a full day, it miraculously kept time perfectly well?? Did I just use the wrong lift angle setting in the timegrapher or what is going on here to make it keep fine time but read as wonky? The amplitude definitely needs a boost so I intend on cleaning and lubricating anyways but wanted to see if anyone else had any similar experiences first.
