basically, i have somethitn coming up where i NEED to wear contacts and i cant remove mine

i usually wear glasses but i have dailies (which i need to wear for said thing coming up) and ive tried the method i got taught which is the pinch method but i cant pinch it and i also feel really uncomfortable poking my finger into my eye to do so which means every time i try i cant. i have a plunger but im pretty sure i cant use that and i dont know what rlse to do

if anyone has any advice pls help

so basically i have something coming up where i need to be able to see and cant wear glasses, i usually wear glasses but have soft contact lenses just in case. my issue is i dont use them because for some reason i can never remove them, and since i have a plunger for no reason, could i just use that

recently i reread part of the series and theres some things about their abilities i feel like is important to discuss, i know most of these have probably been talked about already but i js want to add my own opinions and thoughts.

1. how some powers have the potential to be crazy op but shannon messenger chooses for other abilities to take the spotlight

 firstly, flashers. their ability is to manipuate light, meaning that they should be able to bend light to hide themselves, similar to obscurers as well as being able to change the color and way light moves so people see things that dont exist like illusions. and since light leaping is travelling on a beam of light, i feel like they should be able to control the beams of light without a light leaping crystal since they can js wear a nexus in case they lose concentration. also in the series they are also kinda the opposite of shades, like they control light while shades control shadows ect. but, why can shades use shadowflux but flashers cant use quintessence, they are both elements, and we know that both can be highly destructive so its strange shades can use shadowflux but flashers cant use quintessence. and if the light leaping and quintessence is put together, they more or less have a overpowered version of teleporting

secondly, technopaths. their ability is to create crazy technological devices and as shown with tinker and dex, they are able to make pretty much anything but their ability is regarded as weak and useless. dex managed to create something that would completely block someone elses ability when he was 13/14 quite soon after he developed his ability meaning he could likely create inventions strong enough to destroy their whole world but hes set aside as almost a side character. the whole ability seems so overpowered, like if they can create technology using rocks and sticks (in neverseen) as well as replicating vanishing. and possibly other abilities, they have the potential to surpass all other abilities in strength yet they are still seen as useless?

third, hydrokinetics and frosters. they literally have the ability to manipulate water. the one thing that makes up 71% of earths surface. water cant rly be destroyed and is pretty much everywhere, even making up 60% of our bodies. hypothetically, similarly to >!ridoc from fourth wing, they should be able to freeze/manipulate the water inside of something,!< making them able to incapacitate or even kill someone rather easily and without detection. 

1. all the main characters happen to have crazy strong abilities and/or rare ones

every single one of the characters sophie just happend to meet, developed an ability either extremely rare or powerful. such as stina, the random kid who disliked her cousin happened to become one of the most powerful empaths in the series, her best friend, marauca, happened to be a psionipath, and also an extremely powerful one. the kid she met at lunch, marella happens to be a pyrokinetic and her cousin with a talentless father, dex, happens to be arguably the most powerful technopath in their world, considering the council asked him to make the ability restrictor rather than anyone else. everyone in sophies life also seems to have rare powers, such as grady being the only mesmer, there being no other inflictors, so many telepaths despite it being a rare ability ect. the excess of characters with these abilities just makes it kind of strange

1. some abilities are completely useless and should be a skill rather than an ability

 

firstly, polygot. polygots are quite literally useless, they can mimic voices and speak any language. its already shown that elves can learn to mimic voices, and if an elf had photographic memory, they could likely memorize the languages making this ability largely useless. 

second, voiciferator. they can literally just scream loudly. they cant control who they effect or anything else. just the volume of their scream. overall its a very useless ability. unless your a teacher who needs

their students to listen ig

third, empaths. i feel like this is more of a me thing, but imo empaths are kind of useless. they can sense how someone is feeling. at the risk of losing their sense of humanity, it just seems like its not worth it. sure they can sense if someone is lying, but only if the person feels guilty, which some people may not. they have to touch them to be able to sense their emotion which wont be much use outside of very specific situations. they are also terrible liars themselves, and if they are in the same situation where someone is interrogating them, they cant lie, even if they dont feel guilty or any emotions commonly associated with lying.

recently, i saw somewhere that mad summer (the rly famous beomjun fic) is an actual, published book and i was if wondering if anyone knows if its an actual book you can go buy since all of my google searches just came up with translated versions from ao3…
