What part of this sport is still a pain to manage?

I build apps for a living and would consider myself an intermediate ultra runner.

I’ve been thinking about building something useful for other runners. I don’t want to make another app nobody asked for, so I’m trying to understand the messy stuff first.

What do you still manage with spreadsheets, notes, screenshots, group chats, paper lists, or “just ask someone who’s done the race”?

Could be crew and pacers, drop bags, nutrition, logistics, training mistakes, injury prevention, finding races, gear, aid station timing, recovery, anything.

I’m curious about the real stories.
What happened? How did you handle it? What did it cost you in time, money, stress, or race outcome?

Challenges of Owning a Company in NL

I’m in St. John’s and doing some work on the business side of running a smaller trades or construction company in Newfoundland and Labrador.

I’m interested in what becomes difficult as a business adds workers and crews, including hiring, employee admin, job records, receipts, extra work, billing, and getting information back from the field.

I’m not selling a product or conducting a survey. I’m just hoping to speak individually with a few owners or office managers for about 10-15 minutes to understand what your actual day-to-day problems are.

If you run a plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, property-maintenance, or construction business and would be willing to chat, please shoot me a PM.

Sweat Tests for Sodium Loss

Any folks with experience using a Precision Hydration sweat test or Gatorade sweat patches? Are there better alternatives other than in an actual lab?

Looking to get more accurate data on my sodium needs.
