Therapy more than once a week?

Hi all, does anyone see their therapist more than once a week? (If so what type of therapy do they offer? Eg Analyst / psychodynamic?)

Just started seeing a new therapist after just trying a few sessions with someone who wasn’t quite the right fit but I’m finding 50mins a week doesn’t feel enough. Struggling with my mental health most of the week so by the time I get to see them again it feels like it’s been a month not a week!

I’m still relatively new to therapy so looking for how it feels for others:

- When you share something or even when you’re just talking in session do you still feel on your own? (Like you’re talking to yourself)? Or like you’re part of an interactive conversation?

- Do you leave each week feeling supported? Or like you’re back ‘on your own again’ ?

I’ve been seeing my current therapist 6 sessions now and he’s great but as times gone on I have worries if he’s the right fit as I’m struggling to open up with the harder stuff:

- it’s virtual but I’m finding the transition to working online the rest of the day super hard (he doesn’t offer in person). I’m wondering if in person would feel more ‘held’

- he’s a PCT and Ive realised that some of the goals originally I wanted to work online have expanded and I’m needing a little more direction and insights/ helping to connect the dots. I’m worried I’m going to be flapping around for years….

A lot of advice on here is to speak to your therapist … would this still apply? It’s feels rude raising debating changing therapists with him. I’m also not sure if the needing direction bit is his ‘style’ specifically or his training in person centred. Any advice would be much appreciated!
