I can’t seem to make them look realistic :( any advice??

any advice? I have noticed the shadows are too saturated, but apart from that, idk why i can’t make water seem realistic… Light and reflection are a tricky thing

I used Meeden’s 48 color set + Paul Rubens 72 color floral set on an A3 sheet of watercolor paper :)
I love the results! What do yall think?

Got the Pentel 50 color set of oil pastels for $6 at the art supply shop and turned out I absolutely love the results! Highlights were done with white acrylic marker :)

Almost done with this piece! Did it with pentel’s 50 color set + acrylic marker for white highlights. Still not done with it but it’s almost there :)

Just got the 72 color set (floral palette) on the mail and wanted to try it out. Not a fan, tbh. Some pastels were too waxy, some came drenched in oil and the white is very hard and difficult to blend. But I’ll give it some more tries before giving up on them lol

Had a hard time deciding on the background but turns out it looks nice overall

Spent 4 hours on this one just for the cat’s face to turn out absolutely off haha tell me how to improve please!

PS: I dont mean necessarily how to get better at details, but maybe some tips for drawings with a lot of information and how to get that “realistic” look with larger pastel strokes :)
