Advice for New Grad Nurse Looking to be Hired Within LAUSD

Hello, everyone. I am a newly credentialed BSN-prepared new grad nurse and would like to apply for a position within the LAUSD. I do not have prior nursing experience, but I had a wonderful 9-week clinical experience during my Public Health rotation and felt at home. Every nurse precepting me was outstanding. I enjoyed working with the children, the autonomy, and the culture of school nursing. Would anyone be willing to share their experience working as a school nurse within LAUSD and what the odds are that the district will consider hiring a new grad without having worked within the hospital system? Is it incredibly difficult to get hired? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Incorporating UWorld with Mark K Lectures

Hello Everyone,

I have just started studying for the NCLEX this week, which I have scheduled for the first week of August. I would like some advice on exactly HOW I should study to pass the exam. I understand that completing 85-100 questions per day and reviewing the rationales are what I am supposed to be doing. But, when and how do I listen to the Mark K lectures? Also, do I read the rationales and watch the videos immediately following answering the question banks, or do I move on to the next question? I have been spending HOURS going over the video rationales, which is not only time-consuming but also feels counterproductive... when I say hours, I mean close to 11 hours a stretch. My aim is to use both UWorld and Mark K to my advantage. Can someone please help me with advice? Thank you all in advance! I do sincerely appreciate it.
