Need anime with giant monsters heavily leaning into mystery or anime with existential horror like Evangelion

I really loved the atmosphere in Rezero when the White Whale (monster in the first two slides) appeared, and how they captured the mystery horror feeling around it. It genuinely gave me chills. So I need anime where monsters are not just regular kaijus, but actually terrifying.

Also, I need anime like Evangelion where the horror comes from existential crisis, trauma and guilt with a really good direction.

I think these types of anime need to be super stylished. Would be happy to get suggestions!
