Things to do in/around Osoyoos - end of September

First and foremost, I want to say that my heart is with everyone in the Okanagan who is being impacted by the wildfires.

Thinking of the families who have been displaced, the communities facing uncertainty, the firefighters and first responders working tirelessly, and everyone doing what they can to support one another.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this incredibly difficult time. Please stay safe!

My partner and I are planning on spending a weekend in Osoyoos at the end of September. Arriving early into Kelowna Friday morning and departing Sunday evening (also out of Kelowna). We will have a rental car so are open to travelling within an hour-ish of Osoyoos.

What are some must do/must see things in the area? Not necessarily all winery based but also some hikes, museums, restaurants, unique attractions, etc.

Any and all ideas are appreciated!

TIA

Dividing assets in a common-law “divorce”

I (36M) am wanting to split up with my common-law partner (33F). We have officially lived together since September of 2021. We started living together in a rental unit, bought a home together in July 2022 in SK, sold that house and moved to AB where we purchased a house here in March 2024.

For our entire relationship I have carried the majority of the financial burden. I have always contributed the lion’s share to our living and home expenses and have contributed significantly more in terms of down payments for both the homes we purchased together. Most of the money for the down payments came from a gift from family. This gift included inheritances from grandparents and my dad being a pretty savvy investor who started an account for me in my childhood to help with me purchasing a home.

All this to say, I am at the point where I am done with the relationship. I won’t go into details as to why but will say there has been no infidelity on my part nor any abuse, etc. I just am hoping for as clean a break as possible and one where I am able to recoup at least the money that was gifted to me as previously mentioned.

What advice do you have for me at this stage where I am planning on ending things in the next couple of weeks once I get all my ducks in a row legally?

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you

Debating moving to Moose Jaw. What is the good, bad, and ugly about living there?

I currently live in Calgary and have a job opportunity in MJ. I have spent a little bit of time there for work in the past but never for more than a couple days at a time. It seemed like a nice little city at that time.

Would love some thoughts, insights, information, etc. about the city and what it’s truly like living there.

For context it would be me (single, white, male, mid 30s) and my two pups. I lived in Saskatoon for about 5 years previously before moving to Calgary so I understand some of the Saskatchewan nuances and culture.

Anyways, let me know your thoughts!

2026 Outlander PHEV GT Premium - Mirror & Display Issues

Hi all, I bought the above mentioned about 3 weeks ago and have been using it as my daily commuter (approximately 100km per day, 5 days a week).

It has been pretty great for the most part but I have noticed a couple of things I’m not super happy about.

  1. The driver’s side exterior rear view mirror and the inside rear view mirror seem pretty shaky. I won’t be driving over particularly rough road and I find these two mirrors are shakier than other cars I’ve owned and driven.

  2. A couple of times the infotainment display has frozen and lagged while using CarPlay. As well, today it was a hot day here (Western Canada) and after sitting parked for the work day, when I turned the car on the display screen with the speedometer and mileage information was frozen on the image of the seats displaying no passengers until I physically pressed the side arrow button. I waited about 30 seconds and until I physically hit the button, the screen remained frozen on that image.

Has anyone had similar experiences with their 2026s? Any tips/suggestions are appreciated. I will make a point of taking it into the dealership soon but I live about an hour from the closest Mitsubishi dealership so ideally having an idea as to what could be causing this before I arrange to take it in would be great.

Thanks in advance!
