Shudder on coasting

I have a 2021 Petrol Outlander, 72300km. Cvt fluid changed at 71600km. It has a shudder for a few seconds when releasing the accelerator pedal at slow speeds. Has been scanned and no codes stored. Does this sound like transmission issues or something else?

New here

Hi guys,
I bought this Outlander recently about a week ago. I came from a Hyundai Elantra N Line, and this feels great so far. Do you have any advice or mods you’ve done to yours? Also, post your Outlanders I’d love to see what everyone has done with theirs.

2020 Outlander did a 2,400 km semi-off-road journey

Picked up this second-hand 2020 Outlander earlier this year to replace my 2007 model. My family and I do a 1,200 km trip to a lake every summer, so this was a great test for the car.

The route was roughly 60% paved roads and 40% dirt, gravel, and sandy roads, with some badly damaged pavement along the way.

I was impressed with how similar it felt to my old Outlander. It handled the mixed road conditions really well, stayed comfortable over the long distance, and never gave me any trouble. Looking forward to many more trips—hopefully I’ll be keeping this Outlander for at least the next five years.

Exhaust fumes in the cabin

Any have a 2024 and up that has had experience with smelling exhaust fumes in the cabin, especially while running the AC. It's pretty strong inside. When you get out of the car, your clothes and skin wreak of gasoline and exhaust smells. Took it to the dealership and of course they find absolutely nothing. But we feel sick when we ride in it and our clothes and body stinks like gasoline every time we get out. Any thoughts on this??

Looking for an SUV, Mitsubishi Outlander??

Hey everyone. Im not fully looking just yet for a new vehicle. But i definitely want to get an idea of what i should buy, before having kids.

I currently have a Mitsubishi Lancer, and this car has been great to me for the last 9 years. I just don't like putting car seats in her, and want more room. Im really intrigued in the Mitsubishi Outlander, but my fiancé's brother mentioned they have head gasket issues?? Does anyone have experience with them?

I'm up to hearing about other SUVs as well, I do want the tech like maps/Andriod Auto in it, and decent gas mileage would be a plus. Does not have to be a brand new one either. Anyone have any ideas I can look into?

Thank you!

Some additions to my 2023 Outlander SEL

Puddle lights and illuminated foot sill. Thinking about adding the illuminated footwell lights as well.

I also recently added a Start-X remote starter to avoid paying the yearly subscription to Mitsubishi, which I think is outrageous to pay, which by the way The install is really simple and it works really really good. I highly recommend.

My Outlander was imported and owned for the first 8,000 mi by Mitsubishi North America corporate office, so for some reason it didn't have the reversible mat in the cargo area and I also purchased that and have that installed as well as the OEM rubber foot mats.

This post is twofold. I wanted to show off my work and see if anybody else did this upgrade or ordered their vehicle new with these.....

And secondly, what OEM upgrades have you done or aftermarket?

2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport CVT – overheating + whirring/jerking after ~20 min driving + coolant loss (getting worse)

I have a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (\~220k miles). Service history is unknown, but CVT fluid likely hasn’t been serviced regularly.
I’ve owned it for \~4 months. Issues have been present since I got it, but they are steadily getting worse.

**Symptoms:**
CVT overheating warning comes on after \~20 minutes of driving
Noticeable **whirring noise that gets louder and worse the longer it is driven**
**Jerking/shuddering under load**, especially when warm
No noticeable delay when shifting into gear (engages normally)
Issue is progressively worsening over time
OBD2 scan shows a code related to a torque converter solenoid

**Other issues (possibly unrelated):**
Lost about a full reservoir of coolant over \~4 months (possible slow leak — hose, radiator, etc.)
Light ticking noise from engine, but engine otherwise runs smoothly with no drivability issues

**Question:**
At this mileage and with these symptoms, does this sound more like a valve body/solenoid issue, or is the CVT itself mechanically failing?
Is it worth attempting repair, or is replacement/another vehicle the more realistic option at this point?

Moonroof

We are looking at a 2024 PHEV. When we were looking to see if a roof rack would fit, we noticed some rust. Has anyone ever come across this issue. We had a 2018 which recently got written off and it was immaculate and not a spec of rust anywhere.

Is a 2015 PHEV Outlander a good buy?

Hi all,
I was hoping you guys could shed a bit of light on this vehicle I'm considering buying.

It looks very well maintained and serviced, it is pretty cheap for the area, kms, and age of the car.

I have never owned or even heard of PHEV before and am wondering if I'd be buying a major pain in my backside, especially in terms of battery life, age of the car, smaller petrol tank, possible service cost to come. For reference, I live in tropical Queensland in Australia, and I read the heat will impact the performance of the battery which is already 6 years old.

Any advice would be welcome, as I think it's a very good looking car with a lot of very good features, just not sure about the hybrid aspect.

Thanks!

One month in

One month with a new Outlander PHEV and I’m truly impressed with the battery. I charge at home yes but the fuel gauge has hardly budged and I’m nearing 800kms driven.

Hitch mounting position

Looking to get a hitch on my 2024 Outlander.

From what I can see online and talking to a couple reps, it appears it will have to sit below the body work (red highlight). Is there anyway or type where it can sit higher (green highlight)?

The second picture is of a Ford where it is nicely integrated. Is this something that can happen on the Outlander?
